5 Ton adaper
So as an observation, the deuce wheel studs are flipped and pressed into the plate, OK got that.
Now, to thread their nuts to the axle flange,
a. you had to remove it/slide it out to get in there right?
b. How is there enough space behind the axle flange for the nuts? It would...
Is your extra power because of the bob job or is there engine/fuel adjustment that blesses some deuce owners? I have my main fuel turned up 1-1/2 turns, but have never driven another deuce so I have nothing to compare power to. I don't know if I have the potential for more. (I have a full 6x6...
Right, so if its under the FDC is it something you guys adjust? It looks like an internal part. I was thinking it was an exterior adjustment until looking at the pic. (yes I did see that diagram in the TM, just forgot about it). So to adjust it you'd have to take off the FDC and then put it...
Can some one explain the function and location of the droop screw and how it is related to adjusting your fuel? I reviewed the TM I have for the IP and it doesn't talk about adjusting the droop screw. Is this something that needs to be adjusted in conjunction with turning up your fuel?
"Maybe if the gauge cost 10000000 bucks.. but there $50 new. That should be a hint."
I suppose, I was just taken back that they were slow on idle. When I expected to see a change at 6 minutes and had to wait 15 minutes I didn't know what to think.
Right, driven by the cable, but I would have thought that there was some magic internal gearing that would register constant time on the hour meter to keep an actual hour count.
Similar to my rear set up, very minimal alteration to the vehicle. For the front all you have to do is add a front shackle mount to the under side of your bumper. This creates four points of attachment for regidity. I am working on building both front and rear set ups for sale here.
"Let it also be said that the tach time does not indicate correctly unless it's at full RPM. bjorn said this many moons ago. the slower the rpm's the slower the tach time accumulates. so if it idles a lot then it will show less hours than if it were at highway speed.[/QUOTE]"
The tach in my...
Nice, I'm glad to hear that your bravery has payed off! I felt the same way with the MEP, but what the he.., give it a shot and see what happens. [thumbzup]
What is this HH you all speak of, is it that infamous bow tie/drive washer that I had split in my MEP-002? It looks like yours has split from a stuck (non rotating shaft) and the gearing forces the bow tie to spin so it shatters. I just filed a V groove into the crack and welded it together and...
With all the use of the MEP gennys and them being on m116 trailers, I think there is a whole bunch of people looking for the tarps to cover them with. So, were are all the covers going? All the trailers from GL seem to be naked, did the cookie monster eat them or did they vaporize? There just...
Just a quick question, how are you going to reinstall the frame cross member? In particular, dealing with the rivits that are under the front spring perches?
I was going to ask the same question about the axles. Is that some sort of adapter plate? If so do you have a source? Do you still need a tranny, I have a friend near-by that should have one?
I talked to a company in TX I think it was, a while back (can't remember the name). They said that they make all sorts of steering and a chit load for off road buggies. They said that they could put together systems for what ever you had, for the deuce they recomended a hydro assit that uses a...
I get the whole "not street legal with full hydro steering" thing in the state laws, but how is it that I/you/we see loaders and other hydro vehicles WITH plates driving all over kingdom come? Is there a loop hole? I know that it is imposible to understand state laws, but if you blew a...
If its bad enough, I would toy with the idea of cutting out the bad spot large enough and make a plate to bolt in with a gasket so it would make cleaning out easier in the future.
What do yall think of the pipe dream of making a deuce 4 wheels, but remove the intermediate axle, keep the rear in the same spot with your flavor of suspension and just lengthen the drive shaft? You'd probably gain a little power since your not pushing the removed axle, the turning radius may...
