Hi 5ton, thats a nice lookin' rig. I'm glad you guys will be able to fill the MV aspect to the Fathers Day Show.
KR., yes that was Andy, yes that winch is now on my truck, no I don't know anyone selling. The other guy that I mentioned (that had the tractor) I already tried. He's the type that...
Thanks for that thread link. It sounds like if I remove the J pipe from the back of the air pack and attach an air hose there and run it up to the front with a glad hand it should work. Then I'd run an air line from my trucks pass. side glad hand back to the trailers air tanks to supply them...
"If you do a search for towing a deuce with a deuce there are threads about hooking airlines into the "air-pack". That would be the second brake thingy you were talking about. The first one is the master cylinder." QUOTE
Right, I searched around and could only find nice pictures of this type...
My other thought would be to maybe add a pneumatic cylinder to replace the brake peddle, but that might be tough to tune the distance for equal braking from the truck.
I am in the mental designing stages of a TOP SECRET project here at Fort One Bay and need some suggestions. From looking under the truck, the deuce brakes are activated by the pedal putting pressure into the hydrolic resivoir (sorry for the spelling, I can't get the spell check to work for me)...
Just skimmed this thread looking for something else and might have missed it but wanted to note. If you are having a hard time backing up a trailer with surge breaks try to see if there is a hole in the tounge (on the coupling part near where it goes into the trailer frame). Usually you have a...
Nice, I'm glad that you got to paint it. There is a guy I talked to from here that has a bunch of trucks that lives up on the outer cape. I wonder if your talking about the same guy, I think he said he was a mechanic or a truck driver. What day did you go to Otis, I went on the second day. I was...
I think Cranetruck is telling you this because this unit (untill you go fabricating some broke back truck hoist with it;-)) it is powered by a momentary switch and if you read the plate above the switch is says something about time holding it on (I think). So the unit was designed to be...
The flame injection nozzle on mine was leaking fuel into the intake while not in use causing black sludge at some intake spots. I took the fuel supply to the pump and connected it to the injector return T and took the flame pump return that was on the T and put it on the pumps input port. This...
Hey! That was me - the other deuce at the father's day car show. I can't go this year, I have to go to Gloucester for my cousin's wedding. Oh well, I am trying to find other events to go to that arn't too much of a hike with my truck. Glad to see a MA thread to link us together.
KRaiskio, did...
From what I'm reading, if you'll excuse me, it sounds like you are looking for a ready made truck that has everything you want/need right out of the box. Most guys here will buy the trucks that they have drooled about for years then tweek them to their liking/fit. If you find your dream truck...
Ohhhhhhhhhh, wowwww.............now I totally see what you mean about the hose fitting. Duh why didn't ya just say so? Just kidding. Right, mine is completly different. That style looks very unrepairable hence the need for a new hose. But if you had to you could probably rig a barb fitting...
I'm a regular sized guy and still had to slice (removed covering and shaved off 1" of thickness) half of the padding off from the seat back. It pushed ya too far forward and it had a wierd forward angle. The crew cab idea is the way to go so you can move an after market seat back. But of...
Mikey, regarding the tranny drain - try loading up the 3/8" bolt with nuts and put lock washers between all of them, tighten the crap out of them in a vise and then either peen the end of the bolt real good like a mushroom (if the last nut is near the end, or cut it to make it so) or mash/peen...
I was also thinking of using that same grease for both sides of the winch, but don't know how to accurately measure the amount going in and if it will adequetly make it into the clutch side brass bearing. My steering box also leaks and your suggestion for using corn head in that too sounds like...
Huh?
First off, if your fuel return line is copper why can't you get a new fitting or elbow from a local hardware store and reuse the flared end with its tube nut that compresses the flare? Or if it is plastic type line doesn't it just have a round ring collet that is also compressed by a...
Jon, that looks great! Did the crate engine come that color or did you paint it? When I did the head gasket I painted mine that same color. What did you do to resolve the drag link/pitman arm issue?
