I beat the fuel fitting... And a thread for all the other mods to my deuce

For trailers, I wanted to be 12v compatible but also not loose the stock military setup. So added a 7 pin civy trailer plug. I'm getting smoother with the plasma torch... To wire the plug, I just tapped into the military trailer wires. To get a 12V output (since I only have one trailer), I...

I beat the fuel fitting... And a thread for all the other mods to my deuce

Well, I've been to busy to post for a bit, but I did keep up with picture progress more or less. So here are some updates: Finished hitch system Finished 12v civy trailer plug installed 395s For later today is finishing winch wiring... And the pics: More on the hitch. I've added tethers to...

Almost done with civy receiver... Got the removable lower bracket welded up and fitted. You can see that there are 5 height adjustments, 1.5" apart. The goal was to be about right on the second pin from bottom with NDTs and still be usable with 395s on a higher pin setting. Pinned up and...

I beat the fuel fitting... And a thread for all the other mods to my deuce

Well, I'm a day or so late posting, but I got that part, and the winch installed. That's what it looks like mostly installed. The power pack/hose is there because I decided to persuade the bumperette to let me put the shackle mount between it and the frame. That puts loads closer (more...

I beat the fuel fitting... And a thread for all the other mods to my deuce

Made a little more progress over the last few days... Here are some shackle mounts, that will bolt on rear of frame, using bumperette holes. (hoping to be able to sandwich between bumperette and frame if I can flex bumperette enough). For reference, the CAD pic is 3 posts up. Then I got...

Yes, those bumpers hit on the bumperettes (but it's purely platonic).. Bumperettes, and tailights, are temporarily missing in those pics. In fact they are back on currently. I explored keeping the bumperettes off, but they seem to be worth keeping. The receiver/winch/shackles I'm working on...

License plate "Frame" So, here's a little post on how I mounted the license plate. I wanted a protected place to put it that wasn't hanging down like an afterthought. I realize my solution might be blasphemous to some, but so be it... I rather like how it turned out. The best spot, IMHO, is...

I beat the fuel fitting... And a thread for all the other mods to my deuce

So I have some more updates... I've been working pretty steadily on the brakes, a civy receiver hitch/ winch mount, mounting a license plate, mounting LED taillights and indicators, reverse lights, and dealing with a blinker issue. I'll cover the blinker stuff in this post. So, when I got the...

I'm not quite clear on the purpose of this. Is it a purge port for re-priming the system? And were exactly in the circuit does it belong? At the exit of the final filter? Thanks ciao lino

Yep. 1"-14 is the plan. They will accept WIX 33522 and 33339, and any other compatible. I copied the filter interface geometry from WIX 24770 ciao lino

I beat the fuel fitting... And a thread for all the other mods to my deuce

So on the fuel side. I did some test checks of the dual filter setup. I 3D printed part of it earlier this week and I wanted to see how it fit in the space. The length (longitudinal) is about right, but I'm going to make it a little wider. Then I started on the fuel lines. I'm using...

I beat the fuel fitting... And a thread for all the other mods to my deuce

Had a fairly productive day. I hoped to have the brakes back together and bled, but (embarassingly) I snafu'd a brakeline and needed to buy some more copper-nickel brake line. Should have that tomorrow. But I got the MC and the airpacks installed, as well as the reservoir, and it's all...

I beat the fuel fitting... And a thread for all the other mods to my deuce

So I got thru a "rev 2" of the filter assembly tonight, based largely on Rustystud's comments that gauges facing the fender opening are desired. I like this version a little better anyway. I've always been a little leery of how fragile the gauges can be and how far out there they hang, so these...

I beat the fuel fitting... And a thread for all the other mods to my deuce

So do you need just the circled arm added as a bracket to the single circuit stuff, or the whole pedal hinge assembly? I'll study the TM parts lists tonight to get a better idea of the differences between the single and dual circuit MC brackets. ciao lino

I beat the fuel fitting... And a thread for all the other mods to my deuce

Can you elaborate? I'm not very familiar with the single circuit setup. What bracket is needed? (also interested because soon I'll have the original MC and airpacks to sell...)

I beat the fuel fitting... And a thread for all the other mods to my deuce

I'm moderately proficient at g-code, but I primarily use the CAM module associated with my CAD tool to generate the code, it's parametric so the code updates as I change the model. I very rarely code directly. I can certainly do spot faces and straight threads, the problem is there is only one...

I beat the fuel fitting... And a thread for all the other mods to my deuce

So I got the airpacks rebuilt, and just finished the remote reservoir last night. Here are some pics (before, during, and after) of the reservoir: Brake system should be ready to go in once it stops raining... I also found a nice deal and picked these up yesterday: One fer the front and one...

That's ideal. I will definitely change the design to have gauges face fender opening.

I beat the fuel fitting... And a thread for all the other mods to my deuce

I usually rigid tap smaller threads (that I have taps for) and threadmill larger threads (such as the 1"14 that will be used for the filters). I avoid pipe threads in general (I dislike the concept), so I've never had my CNC do them. I know I can't single-point them because my CAM tool cant...

I beat the fuel fitting... And a thread for all the other mods to my deuce

Decent price... Aye, there's the rub. I'll certainly be doing what I can. I need to do some tests to see if I can rigid tap pipe threads on the CNC. I usually hand tap those, but that will significantly affect the price. There are some pretty deep holes in this turkey too. Round 2 of...
