Putting disc brakes on a deuce

I agree that the insanity of using a pinion brake on one of these trucks as your only source of braking is ridiculous! Being on a reservation got them around the safty inspections and such and I am sure that most insurance companies don't REALLY understand what a pinion brake is. Just as long as...

Just curious! Do you have an SAE bellhousing on the 6bt? If not did you drop the engine real low to get the flexplate to not come in contact withe the front axles torsion bar (dog bone) mount and the floor board and gas pedal assembly? If you did drop the engine did you take in to account the...

Putting disc brakes on a deuce

Changing the axles out would be another option. I personally don't have that kind of cash. I have other plans for my axles in regards to ring and pinion ratios. I am not that familiar whether or not there are better gearing options for the rockwells. Except the high dollar ones that ouverson (I...

    Just acquired 12 m211's......

Now seeing all those trucks and donor cabs and parts is just cruel!! Between you both there is quite the fleet of od iron out there. Awesome to see! What would be even better is if they were all operational!!

    Just acquired 12 m211's......

Are those farm implament wheels on the from of that one? They are to wide and the hub is to deep set to be original. Unless that is one of those riveted hubbed rims flipped then widened. Sad what happened to those people. I don't know if I could buy the one from the wreck even for parts. Guess...

Putting disc brakes on a deuce

Just another thought that has been rattling around in my cranium. Why is it that with this type of modification the use of the F550 calipers is done? If you were to take the system off of an existing truck such as an F700 with the proper bolt pattern, why would you not use those calipers? I am a...

Putting disc brakes on a deuce

I agree the rotor as are pricey but that is all I would want to buy new along wth brake pads. The rest of the brake system I would get from a donor truck if I can find one like a Topkick or a F700. I sourced a heavy truck parts salvage place up here and I could get a complete system possibly...

Which tire fits 20 inch wheel

If what you were looking for was if there are one piece rims available, a quick google search titled custom wheels for rockwell axles will give you a good list. That's is where I got the afore mentioned companies names from when I looked into them. Again I am not advising anything in regards to...

Which tire fits 20 inch wheel

Hmm interesting! I am going soley off of what I was told from the people at Boyce Equipment when I looked into getting rims made. They flat out informed me to choose the type of tire to run since there was such a difference and that they WOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE if I used the other style of tire...

Putting disc brakes on a deuce

I would think the reason for putting disc breaks on one of these trucks, such as I would like to do, is for convenience factors. Parts are not that readily available any more foe these trucks. I waould like to use my rig, if I ever get it going, as much as possible and being able to go to my...

Which tire fits 20 inch wheel

You can also buy one piece rims from a few different sources. Boyce Equipment can make you a set of rims for radials so can another company called Red Barn customs. You can also buy them from Marsh racing wheels, Eaton wheels, and MRW wheels to name a few off the top of my head. Prices are...

Which tire fits 20 inch wheel

To answer your original question. Yes there are tubeless radial tires but you will need tubes in them. Being the type of two piece rim these trucks have you cannot run tubeless. They simply won't hold air with out a tube.

Putting disc brakes on a deuce

I am looking into doing this conversion also. In the hotrod/modification forum on the site there is a guy that has put disc brakes on his M35a2. Says he loves it and it has tons of stopping power. That being said his rig is also a bobber. The conversion kit he installed on his rig if for the...

Which tire fits 20 inch wheel

Awesome pic Plowboy!! Love that glossy od green!! I will have to did through your threads again for your color code and type. The Bridgestone tire looks good to! How was the ride on those tires? 1000/20? 1100/20's not available at the time??

Which tire fits 20 inch wheel

The rims are 7.50 inches wide. This is standard between the M211 and the M135, as far as I has researched. The difference lies in the offset of the rim. The M211 has a rim offset of 6 3/16ths for the duals. The M135 has a rim offset of 5 1/8th. Both models are stock 20 inch diameter rims. M211...

    My first heavy truck xm215

Is the removable cover on the floor of the bed? If it is I would reason it to be for access to repair the parking brake drum or drive shafts or air cylinders. My grandfather told me once that he rode in the back of one where some good intentioned. Mechanic had vented a duct from the cab heater...

    Canadian MLVW wheels

Your track the same due to flipping the hubs. In stock dual configuration your front tires track dead centre between your duals. Once you flip your hubs you increase your inside track on a single but reduce your overall outside width foot print. I am excited to get some 2 piece wheels! I just...
