Just went through this on my M50. Should move about 3/16". It may move the same amount without the button, but just not move high enough...?

Clear line isn't fuel rated but I like to keep some around to install so I can see if I have bubbles in the fuel going into the IP. Is it a consistent big fat chuff chuff chuff miss like a steam engine? If it is, it is likely the head gasket between cylinders 5 and 6.

That is a guy from the Far East somewhere, has a bunch of green gold and is always tinkering with and rebuilding deuce engines. I've talked to him on the FB deuce group.
