I can't attend the rally as I take care of my 82 year old mother on the farm. I am gathering stuff and info as I can. I am going to send Mike a computer drive to copy his stuff.
One resource for large scale cooking would be the book "Food for Fifty" which may still be in print. My copy was my...
I have driven my M925 enough to figure out at 6' 4" the transmission shifter column likes to bite me right on the outside of my shin bone which makes for a rough ride.
Question has anyone ever moved the entire shifter column 2 inches to the right to make things more driver friendly??

I saw your article with your two MKT trailer setup. Neat setup . I will take pictures when I open up the GL surprise package MKT and see what little stuff is there.
I won on 8-12-2013 sale two field kitchen ovens with burner (no Pans) and two MBU burners . So far I am two burners short and no...
I plan to play with it for bbq or chilli cook offs and lend it to 4H and church groups. I want to figure out sinks to make the health inspectors happy campers. I have a food handlers card and have cooked for big groups at church functions.
My trailer pulled well and the travel covers are like...
A neat set up indeed!! I just hauled in a MKT 90 trailer and like a kid on Christmas Eve I can't wait to open it up and see what all I have to work with. I plan to make the trailer available for group use and for heaven forbid a local disaster if need.
Do you have close up pictures of you...
What does the oil look like? Is it milky? You may have a small crack somewhere that leads to the crankcase.
Try an old time mechanic trick that has worked for me to seal radiator leaks. Mix ground cinnamon powder (like you sprinkle on toast) in very hot water to make a heavy solution and pour...
From the one picture I will venture a guess that you have a Military Onan Generator set. Friend worked on starters, generators, and diesel engines and he said that these Onan engines were really well built engines. Lots of high end motor homes uses Onan gensets so you have a good setup. Have...
Our local fuel distributor has run that style International Dt466 6 cylinders for thousands of miles with fuel trucks. He has had good luck with them. 61sleepercab
govliquidation.com has Larcs for sale sometimes and some are parts vehicles with some parts missing. Have you researched the source companiny for the parts? If road wheels are fluid drives maybe a industrial crane , airplane tow truck may be sources. Good luck 61sleepercab
First step to plan is work with health department or food service inspectors to see what is required to serve public for pay. Screens, triple bowl sinks , hand washing sink , cooler etc are in the future to be legal.
Second you might consider canvas or metal sides in truck that fold out for...
Big question did you save threads? Plug is probably a coarse pipe thread which will have a tapered thread. If you lost threads you would have to go to the next pipe size and tap new threads. Usually best to hollow out plug to near threads and take punch and collapse hollowed plug to the center...
Some things to check:
End play of output shafts (worn or unadjusted bearings)
Try rotating output shafts to see if excessive slop (movement between gears) caused by wear
Check universal joints some can make noise when loaded or unloaded.
Some small fillings are normal wear when gear sets...
Check drive shaft, I had a IHC truck with a unbalanced drive shaft that at High RPM would vibrate you out of the cab. If you had dent on shaft you are probably bent also. It is shaking the daylights out the adapter trying to hold the transfer still. Check you mounts also. Mark
Thanks for the info you have provided. I had Bob R. pick up the trailer from the Indianapolis lot and he will check it out and see if there is a dead raccoon in this trailer like one that was sold. I never saw in the GL descriptions whether or not dead critter was included. Wonder if haz met...
I have to get her home to see what is left to work with. If I ever cooked for pay I will have to see what will pass inspection as far as sinks and sanitation.
I may have invested in a 6000 pound hot dog grill? I also have a dual wheel trailer under a generator set that I was looking to...
I have been watching the GL auctions and first fell in love with Sandy the M925 who has become the talk of the town. You bought what?? I want to do a display with her for events, car shows etc,
I am a self taught chilli cook and have read all I could find on the field kitchens and started...
My buddy and I survived a 300 mile recovery on a M925 with only an air leak at the air dryer which we rerouted lines to bypass. Check and top off fluids. Start truck and look for leaks and puddles. Blow off air tanks at drain petcocks and recheck air pressure while driving. Take your time and...
"Be quiet, be very, very quiet !!!!" Elmer Fud would say as Wife is in the room so very dangerous to talk now. Have M38a2 needing stenciled, four B Model Macks in various states, IHC R162 and KB 5 trucks, two IH ScoutII , one ready for paint, 50's Ford F-1 and F-3 rat rod truck "kits" with old VW...
Noticed pattern on trucks at Lansing Michigan lot with drive shafts in the cabs?? Bad Transmissions /final drives/ transfer cases or do the just tow stuff that will not start right up? Seems to be too many trucks to just be all dead.
What is the history on this? Give any insight available...
