Sorry no pictures on our part during the trip.
The forum ate one paragraph off my post. I have traveled the road for 25 years and know the wet spots and how deep they are by the guard rails , mailboxes, and ditches. I never got into any water that was deeper than I expected from observation. I...
I had my new to me 1983 M925 AM General Cargo truck home about two days on the farm and had wondered what uses laid in store for "SANDY". I had thought that high water and snow conditions would be in the future.
Wednesday my son had to travel to Spencer, West Virginia 15 miles for Energy...
June 5 Travis Cadle and I traveled to Indianapolis to recover "Sandy" the 5 ton. Thanks to CWC who put me in contact with Bob R. who backed us us with a preview and hitching up our generator set and convoying us to truck stop. Thanks ,thanks Thanks to everyone.
Sandy runs like a singer sewing...
Thanks for the information on the towing abilities of these trailers. I use the gas engines and grist mill within a 50 mile radius of my home so towing in use would not be bad. Travel half away across the country for one is what hangs me up.
Question: How rare are the critters in the...
I have been watching auctions of M989A1 trailers from Washington and Georgia. Neither site is close to my home base of West Virginia.
First question is How common are the trailers at sites in Ohio, Virginia,Kentucky, and Pennsylvania ?
Second question is How do they handle behind a 5 ton? a...
Neat looking combination. If I can get "Sandy the M925 " (tan colored 1983 AM General with winch) from Indianapolis Lot to West Virginia ,you are giving me ideas.
I have a 1968 M49A2C dressed as a M35A2 as well who will be spared the cutting torch and arc welder.
You really make the Bobber...
Good luck with the new to you truck!
Our local West Virginia Army Guard drivers had fun putting a water hose in their buddies truck stack and filling up the soot water cannon for a Old Faithful moment until one truck had a exhaust valve open and the engine started with a slug of water aboard...
Skinny Exhaust up by windshield post on the old girl. I have never heard of a nonturbo Multifuel before. I looked under the hood and as Gomer Pyle would say Gooow Leeee they done stole the turbo. I guess that the idea was less chance of sparks, fire and the big boom. Fuel trucks are nothing to...
I purchased from a local farmer a retired VFD M49A2C former tanker which has been converted to a regular Army cargo bed tandem truck. My limited info so far while standing in the rain:
M49A2C Kaiser Jeep 1968 DAAE 06-68-007 CARC-94 paint under red fire truck paint covered...
However you remove finish with chemicals or physical sanding, protect yourself from fumes and silica sand dust. Silica sand is a killer as hundreds of tunnelers died in West Virginia in the construction of the Hawk Nest Tunnel for a hydro power station. The cut through rock was about 100% silica...
I would trying a wire brush on a stick fastened by screws followed by sand paper nailed to a stick.Sand blasting in a blind hole would be a adventure in my opinion. Try foam brushes or painter's pads for phosphoric treatment or paint. Spray paint will never cover that far down in a tube. Mark...
I just found the site while looking for information on my latest purchase a 1968 M35? deuce and one half with an army single axle trailer thrown in. I am new to the army big stuff but have owned in the past a Willys MB and a Studabaker WWII Deuce and one half. I also collect old gas engines...
