    Does an M155 tank exist..

No. The T-30 looks like it could pass for the M26 Perishing's big brother where as the M103 looks like an M48 on steroids. Not sure how many in a batch of the "T series" they order, but the M103 reached production. The M103 was armed with a 120mm main gun which at the time was very big (required...

    Exploring my new obsession

They were used to hold a cardboard insulation pad to the upper firewall of the cab. Removed them (clips & what was left of the pad)from my M37 while doing the teardown. Had a bear of a time installing a similar pad in my WC51 when I was restoring it...

    XM211 goes to school

Welcome to the site! Always liked the G749 trucks, thought they were the best looking out of the 2.5 tonners. I'm just down the road from you in Rockingham County. Matt

    Installing a ROPS onto a m151a1

Story I got was that it was done in the motor pools so does that make it a field mod? As for sticking a solid axle underneith of it, the Army experimented with that. Installed a solid front axle under an M151(A1?). Installing rigid axles under an M151 would be as much...

    Installing a ROPS onto a m151a1

When I still had my first A2, I met an Army Vet who was stationed in Korea back in the early/mid 1970s. He was an officer in charge of the motor pool. He mentioned the "logging chain modification" done to the rear suspension of M151A1s to help curb over travel. So that was a mod that was...

    Installing a ROPS onto a m151a1

I have heard of it being done but the souce who said that he either saw it done or did it himself was highly suspect. If your A1 is uncut, running and in good condition you could probably sell it & buy an A2 w/ ROPS installed...

    Installing a ROPS onto a m151a1

there's an image posted over on G838 (I think) that a member there took of his GPS while going down the interstate in an A2. w/o canvas & windshield folded, speed was 75 MPH. Had no idea that they could go that fast (can't say as I'd want to be in one traveling that fast)...

    Installing a ROPS onto a m151a1

A "ROPS or not to ROPS" thread pops up from time to time over on the mutt forums (G838&G503) and it at times has gotten quite heated. I've seen ROPS installed on A1s but it was mostly A2s that received that MWO. ROPS wasn't introduced until the later 1980s well after the A2 came into service...

    Installing a ROPS onto a m151a1

Fallen Yes there is a market for uncut M151A2 suspension parts what their value is.....is another story. As for the ROPS, they can be installed on any of the standard G838 vehicles (don't think the front line ambulances had them nor the TOW carriers). Yes the jeep has to be...

    Tanks into Heavy Equipment

Mike Thanks for posting these. I've seen both an M39 & M74 that had been "bathtub'd" for life outside the Military. I remember SEAECO down in Augusta, Ga used to repurpose M114s & M75 APCs as log skidders at least up into the mid/late 1990s. Sad I know but look at it this way...

    Hello from south French.

Well on the bright side, you get to enjoy your M151A1. It's supposed to be in the high 50s and partly sunny tomorrow so I may take the A2 out for a spin around the storage lot where it is spending the winter. What kind of dog is Vulkan...

going to Coleman's on Tuesday 1/10

When I had an M59 (APC) back in the late 90s, I needed tracks for it. Was quoted a price oof 4k for a used, take/off set from another collector. I needed about 144 shoes and the T/O set was going to be shy a couple due to them having been cut off of another vehicle. I was able to find NOS (still...
