Which multi-fuel engine is the best choice?

Thanks for the heads up. A while back I found a site for a company that was selling "milirary" enignes but I cannot remember who it was. They had a biulding full of them.

Did the M37 ever come in a tanker configuration?

I know where one is I want. I think it use to carry a tank for a fire department. It is even dualled out already. If I can afford to grab that one up, the bed may be available.

Did the M37 ever come in a tanker configuration?

I do plan to upgrade the suspension. Feul is what I am planning to haul. The weight is one reason I changed my mind about a buffalo tank. A plastic ag tank should cut the weight down quite a bit.

Which multi-fuel engine is the best choice?

Amen to that. I am not trying to biuld a sled pulling, drag racing, tug-o-war, dyno killing, nitro huffing, power slinging beast. With 40+ year old technology, there is always room for improvement.

For that price we can just continue to get them other places.

Which multi-fuel engine is the best choice?

A more efficiant engine is what I am going after. I know they are detuned a bit for longevity. But I just want to tweak it a bit. The internal mods mentioned before are a good start.

Did the M37 ever come in a tanker configuration?

A water buffalo is what I had in mind. but I think the ag tank is a better idea. Then I can see how much is in it. I would prefer not hacking up a M37 though. I would rather locate a M37 that came with a tank, if possible.

Which multi-fuel engine is the best choice?

I completely agree. I am just curious about thier availability. I am also wondering where I would go to get store bought parts for these engines.

Which multi-fuel engine is the best choice?

What about new internals? Oh and not to mention gaskets, seals and so on.

Which multi-fuel engine is the best choice?

You hit the nail on the head. I was planning on some mild internal mods like you just mentions. How hard is it to get internals for them?
  17. Lonesome715

Which multi-fuel engine is the best choice?

You are correct. When I metiond installing a bigger turbo I was not talking about somehting that would put the engine at risk. However, I do want to look into injector upgrades and some head work.

In need help gathering information on these old deuces

That does sound like a good set up. But it ruins my multi fuel reasons. Wait, I have never heard of a GM 8.3 deisel. Are you sure GM made a deisel that big?
  19. Lonesome715

Which multi-fuel engine is the best choice?

Thanks for information. I know they are not power monsters, but I was hoping to at least make it a little more efficiant at least.
