I was checking the thread just to see if it was someone driving a deuce in the nude or if they got passed by someone driving in the nude. I think the deuce seats would be very uncomfortable without a layer or two of clothing in between those and the butt cheeks.
Re: RE: OLD Metal lights
Thanks, Cabell.
I've already cut the fronts, just not real pleased with the results. I'll mark and drill the rears like you recommend.
OLD Metal lights
Mike,
Got a few of the metal housings for the old style round lights. :) But if Kenny's got some, might be easier than me trying to ship them.
If you want them, though, PM me or e-mail bigbeemorrisonATjuno.com and I'll send you some pics.
For all you people that have the composite turn signal/black out lights on your M37s-how did you modify the brackets to fit the lights?
For the front:
I found that the front marker light brackets have the wire hole too high to fit the wires through and am not happy with cutting the hole...
RE: more baby HEMTT pics
For the spare tire loading, you could go with the jib and chain-fall system like on the 900 series five tons. Simple and effective and not as space intensive as a power winch or crane.
Johan-
The ISBN for Doyle's book is: 0-87349-508-X. MVPA has it in their Supply Room in the Supply line newsletter.
The last three digits of the registration number have no real meaning. They are numbers assigned in some kind of sequence as the vehicles were accepted from the manufacturer...
Johan- welcome to the site.
When I saw this question I had to get my book back from CitizenSoldier. 2nd Edition, Standard Catalog of U.S. Military Vehicles by Doyle (excellent reference) Appendix 2 "Color and Markings of . . ."
From the early 70's forward through current the NG prefix shows...
pics of inside
Another post was talking about the M1031 Chevy version. GL had some pics of the inside on the auction listing.
The compressor and tanks are on the left side of the cargo box, the big grey thing in the middle is the PTO to operate both the genset and the compressor. The genset...
On the MMMT's M880, the fuel gauge doesn't work. Put a note on the visor that the range is about 140 miles on a full tank (allowing for errors). Last trip figured out to right around 9 mpg. But I'm running a truck that sat for a least 2 years here and 3-4 years where it was before without...
prices didn't show
Sorry 'bout that, chief.
$6,500 as it sits. :)
$8,000 including take out parts from another vehicle to replace the tranny and diff. :D
If you need more or specific pics, let me know by e-mail.
boy oh boy is it hard to type these words. :(
I am selling my 53 M37 w/w, 2 parts trucks, and assorted pieces and parts. Long story short, too many of this truck available for our Museum displays and I've decided to move to something a little less common.
1953 M37, w/winch:

The Central Michigan company of the Great Lakes MVPA will be having a get together at Island Park in Mount Pleasant. 12 noon on August 19. Everyone within an hour or so of Mt. Pleasant is welcome to attend. Those who want to come from farther away are also welcome. Military vehicles...
I was thinking about repowering an M37 with a 6.2 and cucv driveline, but kept hearing they are POS, so I started looking in other directions. Still haven't settled on anything yet, but I think the biggest problem with them in the 3 speed tranny. No 4th gear or OD makes them scream something...
M1031-
The gen set works great as long as you make sure you ground it right. Follow the directions for using the PTO! Make sure it's fully engaged. The fun part is running air tools from the compressor, like air powered chain saws.
I was in the middle of requesting permission to modify the...
RE: It also fits this trailer
NEIOWA-
Thanks for the information on the truck in Lansing. Looks like a decent highway tractor. We have our 501(c)(3), but have been told that we need to be open 1,000 hours to qualify for federal surplus donations or develop a relationship with a municipality...
It also fits this trailer
Actually, I'm an M37 guy in transition. Until I bought this trailer, I left the bigger trucks to those who needed to impress someone or who had REAL work to do. One member of our Museum group (Dave P) already has a 5T tractor, and it is just more than this little...
RE: MMMT
Kenneth-That's kinda what I thought. Shoulda had ya PM me with that info. Hope nobody that was willing to sell for $3K sees what you were offered. But, since you use yours, and keep it in top shape, it is worth a little more.
The e-bay one is WAY up in NY state, 2000 mile round...
