My deuce was like that,I couldn't get it over 165. In the summerI would dog it in 105+degree heat. I was melting though,The thermomiter hit 124 in the cab.
I am thinking a "mad Max" barn mobile to chase the horses around and keep the palm trees at bay in the back pasture.:-D
I don't know what will be done to it, but a restore is way out of the question.:!:

I was wondering what the obsticles would be to run a Detroit Diesel in my newly acquired M818 would be? It needs an engine and the 671 and tranny are under a grand and running strong. Has anybody done something like this or what would the problems you could list be?

I stand in error,I thought it was an exaust leak and it turnes out to be my intake. It was/is right on the intake and head. So just to see if a shim would shut it up I put one in and it fixed the blow by but I still hear what can only be described as "Thwoosh" sound as it is started and running...

I want to use the truck as a offroad recovery vehicle for my buddies as we go out mudding and as a means to haul supplys for my farm. I would like to locate one with a crane in the back in the distant future.
