I'm the same way. I have stacks of parts for our vehicles and i still have them for ones that are long gone. Along with a huge collection of chiltons manuals and dealer service manuals. i think its a sickness.
Nice truck. You can weld a plate with a hole in the middle to the outside of the dogbones and they wont come apart. It would work fine for your application.

You should replace your fuel filters as soon as you can. Also I know you said you got water out of the air filter housing, did you pull the filter out to dry or replace it?
