Too much tongue weight. With the axle set back as far as it is, I needed to balance the load better. It actually road really nice, no bouncing. Another thing I noticed, the tire pressure painted on the sides reads "TP 17". That seemed a tad low to me, so I pumped them up to 20 lbs.
Under the cover of darkness and fog, I slipped into the bowels of Atlanta this morning. Managed to recover a couple 1101's in a single trip, even though several people said it wasn't possible. With some input from Recovery 4x4, the trip back to Florida went off without a hitch.
Lets see...a Ford driveline/tranny/bumper repair vs. a winch....hmmmm :cookoo:
Personally, I don't go into tricky territory unless I have someone with a truck "at least" as big as mine.
I guess it really hits home, that you never know when you're number is up. Gives you the incentive to live life to the fullest, and enjoy every day, cause you never know when it will be your last. RIP buddy.
Disconnect the fuel supply line at the filter, and the fitting at the top of the suction tube. Use a blow nozzle and blow into the filter end. You will then be able to see if you had an algae buildup in the supply line. Then blow down into the tank to see if you hear bubbles. No one else...
A common place for the air leak is the fuel tank switch valve located under the driver-side floor panel. The hose connections to the valve assembly are notorious for cracking. Removing the toolbox under the driver door gives you good access and room to work.

Swiss, I should have most the pieces, but would have to do some digging. I do however have an original system under my shop trailer.
Have to check, but I doubt it.
BTW, I have noticed this thread is seriously lacking "wanted" items. I have LOTS of stuff I would like to relocate to GA.
