I see. I appreciate your input Combatmech. I did find a page with TM's for CUCV's but the stencil locations and type were conveniently left out (as far as I could tell). Clearly marked locations for "Military Police" stencil size and locations, but not much more.
I've been hunting high and low for a comprehensive source of information regarding stencil/marking locations via search, TM's, and Google, and was hoping this thread might become that source. The old site is down, but I did find a TM regarding markings on another site. Unfortunately it didn't...
Thanks. Did just that. Walked into an auto parts store and they had everything I wanted.
Over the last few weeks I've bought batteries, a new water pump, hoses, belts, filters, and brake parts to put them on the shelf for future use. I don't want to try finding parts for my dooms-day machine...
I've been searching the threads and can't seem to find the right one listing the brake parts for the M1009. I've seen it, but can't find it now. A little help? Thanks much!

Thanks much....
Great looking project. Will be very impressive when you're finished, no doubt. Thanks much for sharing. Sorry for all that global warming keeping you from your progress!
Mine came from Ft. Meade via the previous owner who bought it directly from the gov't with another M1009 and an M1008. He told me that mine didn't have antennas or radios, but it did have a big dent in the middle of the hood like something fell on it. It was a basic virgin militaryBlazer. The...
Dumped and filled diffs (replaced rear plug), T-case, and greased all fittings. Replaced headlights, replaced headlight bezel screws with stainless, and lubed and 'tightened' electrical connectors (had an intermittent r/s low beam). New wiper blades. Oh, and a Solargizer.
Question. I noticed my fuel looks pinkish when I run a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil through a full tank of diesel on my M1009. What happens when they dip the tank and find MMO-dyed diesel? I just carry the empty with me whenever I do it. Not more than once per oil change.
Personally, I won't...
