    N Arizona SEE Unimog

Last Friday I was driving from Baltimore to Frederick, MD on the main road west (I-70) and saw a trailer with two machines like this with backhoes on them. I couldn't safely muster a photo unfortunately. Must have been coming out of the port of Baltimore. Any chance this is one of them (I...

CUCV M1009 Radiator cover - Available and where?

I'm a bit of a purist, so I've already made contact with Jatonkas and will get it coming today. Thanks much for all the input. Really looking forward to getting this installed.

CUCV M1009 Radiator cover - Available and where?

Ok. I'll do that for sure, but still like the option of a cover/muff. Anyone? Bueller?

CUCV M1009 Radiator cover - Available and where?

Looking to restrict the airflow over my radiator this winter. Barely gets warm enough for reasonable heat, definitely not enough for defrost. Any suggestions? Did search a bit on the site, but found nothing. Hoping to find the actual military cover.

Sure enough. Easy drive down 26. The CUCV could use the exercise. See everyone there!

Can anyone provide an address for the Bob Evans? I'd love to swing down in the M1009 next Saturday.

Glad things worked out this way. I've been down this road.....nearly cost me my relationship with a good friend. It can happen to anyone.

    Where's Your License Plate?

Here's a photo of my finished license and light arrangement. Used Hella Euro side lighting (long euro tag requires two lights) since the tag and light wouldn't fit without the vertical dimensions of the creases in the tailgate.

NOS USMC M1028 from Norway Storage

Great find. I thought I did well with a pristine 48,000 mile M1009 (and still do), but you did VERY well. I'm a vote for keeping it all original.

Yesterday, new hoses, coolant temp and oil pressure gauges. (3-gauge cluster available at Harbor Freight) I must have no life.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Thanks! New CARC paint really improved it's appearance. Took care of a little dent hear and there. Nice to have it back. I've seen a few CUCV's lurking around Maryland. Even had one pass me on my home street recently. A friend told me about a trailer for sale which led me to an M1008...

Manoman, glad the important stuff wasn't down there! Here's a couple more out in the woods, and one at a friend's place.... Also, replace the tail shaft output seal. Took about 15 minutes. Love it!

R/F turn signal illuminates with brake application

And the solution was...... The hazard switch needed to be exercised. Initially it was quite difficult to turn them on and off, but after switching it about 20 times, the brakes can be pressed, and the turn signals stay off. Who knew. Thanks for all the input. Had me looking at things I...

R/F turn signal illuminates with brake application

Here's a new twist which might lead to the flasher relay. Today I drove it extensively and slowly the frequency of r/f turn signals coming on with the brake diminished. I ran the turn signals in conjunction with braking which sometimes resulted in the r/f turn signal lights staying off. I...

R/F turn signal illuminates with brake application

Ok, I'll answer all the responses at once. Problem started after paint, but have checked the wiring at the lamps, etc. All appears intact. New to me truck, but have had it for a while. Checked ground wires via wiring diagram - appear to be intact. Wipers work normally. I agree with the...

R/F turn signal illuminates with brake application

So when I apply the brakes, the right front turn signals illuminate. Rear bulbs removed, same thing. Anyone run into this one? I have the manuals, but my wiring diagrams are mostly; missing from them.
