M715 on tour to Pocking Germany

Wolf, Thanks for the photos. Did you see Frank Flick there? That bugger needs to send me an email. One other question....do you think that the Unimog 404 wheel/tire combo will fit the B2000? I have an extra set and was considering installing them. If not, any suppliers over there for the 16...

    1958 Borgward in "Panzer Grey"

That's quite possible, Wolf. When we ground down the paint to expose the various layers, we found first a tan primer, then a sort of grayish green (Bundesweher) then Red which seems to match RAL 3000. That would have made it a fire service vehicle, or Catastrophen or Zivilian Schutz? Anyway...

Euro size / Mog pintel eye help

Thanks Wolf. I did notice that, yes. I also noticed that my 1958 Berna 2US would accept both designs. I have fixed the issue. The yoke has now been cut and modified to fit the Euro size pintel receiver. The FBW (Franz Brozincevic Wetzikon) receiver is a fully articulating Rocklinger pintel...

steering to the right then floats left while hold wheel

I once saw where an axle had been shifting fore and aft on the leaf spring causing track issues. Ever been behind a truck where the tail was either left or right of the front end? Same idea. Watch-out when people speak in 'absolutes.' "Cant be....." "Never could...." I've seen some crazy...

Do you have an axle shifting on a spring? Should be somewhat obvious if you do. Good luck.

    Military trucks seen during trip....

Thought I'd share these photos I took at a rest stop while I was heading to Daytona FL a while back. I can't remember if posted these or not. Anyone have additional photos of this type all finished up? Thanks...

    Front axle problem

Be sure to check your brake hose. They can deteriorate and collapse internally. Applying them, the fluid flows through. Release the brake pedal and the pressure can remain causing the brake to drag, heat, grab more, etc. Not sure if this was mentioned, just wanted to be sure you didn't...

    M1010 "BAJA BOMBER" on 37s!!!

Can the typical CUCV easily handle the wheel/tire weight of the standard Hummer combo?

My apologies. I didn't mean to imply the Avgas has ethanol. I was just warning of any fuels with it, don't use it. To my knowledge, ethanol is not FAA approved.

    Bridge plate numbers??

    Great info. Thanks much!

    1958 Borgward in "Panzer Grey"

And yes, it has a tiny little pintel receiver like the FBW. :cookoo:

    Piper L4 Grasshopper

One other thing I wanted to mention. Don't use fuel with Ethanol. As I understand it from a recent FAA / Rotax seminar, fuels with Ethanol can separate while stored and this concentration of alcohol is what can do the most damage to the engine when run, and seals that it sits against. I'm...

    1958 Borgward in "Panzer Grey"

Hey guys.... Not sure where to post this, but thought I'd keep y'all in the loop during the color change and WW2 'conversion' of the Borgward. It's a 9 seat convertible intended as a staff field vehicle / command car.

    Dash pad Removal

Just got one off Ebay and put it in. Perfect fit, easy job. Now the dash reflects the condition of the rest of the M1009. [thumbzup]
