    The M1008 Arctic Winterization Kit

Winter Front and Insulated Cargo Cover, Cargo Heater Jatonka sells CUCV Winter Front grill covers that help the engine and heater warm up quicker in cold weather, especially when driving fast in very cold weather. I just got mine from him a few weeks ago and the workmanship is great and the...

    The M1008 Arctic Winterization Kit

Swingfire Heater and Block Heater The Swingfire Heater consists of a gasoline powered portable heater, a 24v plug in ( I assume for an electric start on the heater), interior switch to run the coolant pump, the circular port on the driver's side fender allows the heater to slide into a water...

    The M1008 Arctic Winterization Kit

A lot of people may know this already but just got done replacing my glow plugs, if you have the passenger side battery/interior heater, it is impossible to get to the last glow plug. I tried removing the battery but it seems that you have to remove the heater then the battery, PITA. I took a...

    M1008 Radio Install Complete

The sound isn't perfect especially since I kept both speakers on one side to save room for a small toolbox on the passenger side. But it sounds pretty good, not too muffled, just a little unbalanced. There's just enough space between the seat and the cab that the tweeters aren't getting muffled...

    M1008 Radio Install Complete

The standard radio mount, like in the link, is taken up by the Swingfire Heater switch, I want to keep that intact in case I buy the Swingfire. I'll have to think about the dummy face, could be a fun project

    M1008 Radio Install Complete

Finally have tunes in the plow truck[thumbzup] I did a fairly simple install by just mounting the radio on top of the dash, in my truck the swingfire heater switch takes up the area the civy radio would have mounted and I didn't want to start cutting up the dash to try to mount it flush...

    The M1008 Arctic Winterization Kit

Alright I snapped a few more pictures.8) First is a pic of the cab insulation, basically a 1/2" foam mat under the regular floor mats. Next 2 show exhaust coming down from the passenger side heater and exiting by the passenger rear fender. Then there is the pic of the oil pan shroud, showing...

    Snow plow......specifics.....

That is a great looking mount, Mikelee. Mine came from the Army with a custom fab'd mount for a Boss V Plow which I love. The mount's ugly as **** and they unfortunately removed the front bumper and brushguard, but it works. I've got a crazy steep driveway 'bout 800 ft long with 2...

    M1008,,what a trooper! Starting at 16 deg...

I know at least a few of my glow plugs are bad too, but it's cold up here, 5 degrees and howling wind tonight, supposed to hit -15 Thursday night. I had my block heater plugged in and I did flip on the battery heater for a few minutes but got it started without much trouble. I'm loving mine...

    The M1008 Arctic Winterization Kit

Yes mine does have the floor insulation, I forgot about that. My oil pan shroud is designed so you can still get to the drain plug, but I couldn't see the plug for the transmission. I will try to craawl under it and post pics when I get a chance. My passenger side exhaust runs straight back...

    The M1008 Arctic Winterization Kit

Engine, Oil Pan, Transmission, Battery, Aux Heaters This part of kit contains two diesel heaters under the hood, one is located over each inner fender. Fuel is pumped directly from the fuel tank to a burner which then has a fan to force the heat through the ducting. They are controlled from a...

    The M1008 Arctic Winterization Kit

I've searched through the threads and people seem to be interested in the Winterization Kit, but information is a bit limited on it. I picked up a M1008 Plow Truck a month or so ago and thought I'd start posting pics of parts of the kit. From what I've read complete kits are extremely rare...

    Tire chains- any recommendation

Allrevup go to lacledechain.com then Traction Products then Tire Chain Specifications, scroll down to single truck chains and try to match the dimensions of the cross links and side chains to get a model number then you should be able to go to the fitting section and see what size tires they...

    Tire chains- any recommendation

I would be careful welding the cross links. The connectors are cheap and easy to replace but a PITA when your fingers are numb, the winds howling and it's dark out, I can see why you did it. The side and cross chains are usually hardened steel while the connectors are not, this gives you a...

    Tire chains- any recommendation

Lots of good chain companies out there Pewag, Rudd, Laclede. They will have hardened chain that will wear longer than cheaper Chinese stuff. Really depends what your using them for and how often. If you are running them often basic ladder style chains are easy to repair if a cross link...

How do you keep your rear window on your Blazer clear?

I used to plow with my brother in law's 84 blazer and he had installed a small fan near the rear window and that worked great to keep the fog off. It had a switch wired up to the dash.

How many leafs in spring pack?

Do you guys have Teflon inserts between the leaf springs? Mine has maybe 3x4" rectangles of thin Teflon in the front spring pack to keep the leafs from rubbing or rusting together. Sorry I can't post pics right now but there is one in my "new m1008 plow truck thread"
