I suspect it could haul a bunch. The TM says 5000 lb. Payload but we all know those are just guidelines. Load her til the tires rub, then take out half a cord.
For what they cost it couldn't hot but I suspect you'll see the same on the new one. Didn't someone mention the possibility of rain or other water infiltration? That's always possible too. Just that this is where you noticed it ending up. Don't think anyone classified water as a Class III...
1 - PLEASE change your font so that those of us with old eyes can read it. Thanks
2 - Most likely cause is condensation. Burned fuel gases contain water vapor. Some gets past the rings on each stroke. Your device there is (as stated above) the diesel version of a PCV SYSTEM. I am not...
For a modernization and still having options, why not get a take-out Flexfuel GM LS series. Will run on anything from 100% gasoline to 85% ethanol - 15% gasoline. With a 4L65 or 4L80 behind it you have the most up to date combo out there. ( Hint - it'll run on 100% ethanol but the gasoline is...
tobyS, Agree with Another Ahab. Keep 'em natural. And, sorry if I sound like a father but I am one (and a firefighter), IF you use Linseed oil, DO NOT throw the rags ( or whatever you're applying it with ) in the corner with oil still on them. They WILL spontaneously combust. Can make for...
Just please remember that anything you do to a vehicle driven on public roadways must meet FEDERAL D O T STANDARDS - ESPECIALLY on something that MIGHT get inspected by a friendly member of the Interstate Commerce Commission's ( Federal Commercial Vehicle ) agents or their designees ( State...

I have seen this same problem in at LEAST three other threads. Upper right corner of the page . . . search box. HHMWV transfer case, ENTER.
Or just move the selector out of LOCK and back up ( hey !! just like it says to do in the Operator's Manual TM, AMAZING )
Best part of a Buffalo to see, the rear. Safest place to be, sorta. [thumbzup]
buffalobwana, sorry to hear about your fall. Hope yer OK. That is why I am gonna build an escalator  on the back of my 820. Gettin too old for anti-gravity experiments and broken hips in the middle of...
FOUND IT ! ! ! (maybe) -- this is what came up when I searched the All-knowing Goo with the number visible in the pic. Makes sense. Now ya have an idea anyway...
Brother, I've been holding my breath for forty long years.rofl. Maybe that's why I'm like I am. Hear ya 5 by 5 about the oil in the exhaust but where I'm planning to go it doesn't rain all that much so I suspect I'll probably succumb to Tequila Sunrise before oil induced pulmonosis.
Any foreign material on any braking surface will kill any material out there. It is MUCH easier to ensure that the involved surfaces are clean with discs but they are NOT self-cleaning. Hose 'em off or drive through clear standing water (if legal).
