So after the website is updated by a GL employee to say "EUC sent to Battle Creek", what happens?
If you call GL to find out what is taking so long you are basically told to sit and wait.
How is the EUC sent to Battle Creek? I would imagine email. How do we know the email did not get lost...
I just scored a M816 on GL. Still waiting on EUC. I bought mine for the crane. Need it to do some occasional lifting for my business.
I won it on a Friday and the Wife was in a bad mood so I kept quiet. Sat. morning we were having coffee. I just casually looked at her and siad, honey I bought...
I ran waste oil, (15 Gallons Diesel to 5 Gallons waste oil), this weekend in my M1009 in 25 to 35 degree temps. It ran, but when I needed to excelerate I could not get out of my own way. It felt as though the oil was to think to move through the fuel system as needed. I am going to retry again...
I walked the entire Carlisle Fairgrounds this summer at their annual swap meet and found 1 Dodge fender. For some reason there is not a huge used parts market. Probably due to the rust issue. I have been to a few junk yards as well and there are only 1983 & newer trucks in the yards.
Worse case if it is in your posession for a period of rime it can be considered an abandoned vehicle. Then you should be able to file for a title. Depending on your state.
The recovery is half the fun of buying these things. I have some good stories. Each recovery you get wiser and plan ahead better. Geuss they call that "Experience".
I called the guy running the yards close to me the other day and asked if he had any of a particular truck coming up for auction in the near future and he said no. I kept it short, but I have bought a lot of things through his yards, so he knows who I am.
Yes I brought the wheels. It really isn't as bad as it looks. Needs a rear u-joint, wiper motor & rear glass. All of which I have. Oh & a door. Probably gonna sell it unless my daughter takes an interest in it.
Picked one up this week. This is my 6th recovery and they seem to get easier each time. I remembered my drivers license, insurance & registration, necessary tools & patience.
They obviously put troop seats back there for a good reason. I have purchased seat belts so the family can ride in back. Mostly I wanted them to keep the X-wife from raising a stink with me when I dropped the kids off to her in it, but the biggest reason as stated above is the sudden stop factor.
My friend that bought one of my Deuces is planning on carrying a MV magazine so he can look it up and point out the show he is going to if the officer asks. There is usually always something you can say your driving to.
I paid for commercial plates, but currently I am getting switched over to antique auto insurance so I can go to antique plates. I just can't justify spending $500.00 a year for a truck I only drive 5 times a year.
