I titled 3 out of Selfridge with MI titles and received no such docs. They messed up the VIN on one, but I was able to get it taken care of at the Secretary of State.
Can anyone tell me the difference between the Civi & Military 6.2? I have a used good, low mileage, Civi motor I am sitting on as a spare. I would not want to use it in my Military trucks if I would be losing anything by using it Vs. replacing it with the correct engine or rebuilding the one in...
I am also amazed that these huge hunks of iron can be purchased at such a reasonable price. You would think with the historic value, along with the size of the truck, they would go for big bucks. I think between all the unknowns and a decent amount of them on the market, prices are able to stay low.
So I am selling a Deuce and the guy interested in it asked me if the Multi Fuel works on it. I said, what do you mean? I forget his exact response, but he made it sound like there was a Multi-Fuel "Valve" or adjustment on the IP. Am I wrong, or does it burn as a Multi-Fuel all the time? Some one...
Price: Yes I agree on $1,500.00 being to cheap, but go for it. You never know. I paid $1,600.00 for my M1028 just so I could throw the chassis under my CIVY Truck.
I was a little more cautious with my CUCV keys, knowing that they are a dime a dozen and most everyone knows the key fits all the CUCVs. I recently had my locks and ignition changed to a different key. For the price of $150.00, I highly recommend you do the same if you own one.
Had all my lock cylinders & ignition switch changed to a different style key so no scum bag steels my ride. For the money it cost me, I would suggest anyone owning a CUCV to do the same.
I am a mechanic, but always have someone else install the remote starts. I asked the guy that does mine and with the whole glow plug issue, he said it would not be possible to do. So I guess I will have to resort to the kids and wife for my remote start.
I had a thought of putting a 6.2 in the one I just bought, only because I have a spare sitting in the garage along with trans & T case to match. I absolutely hate the 318's, but then again I really never liked Dodge's period.
The day after I under coated mine, I bumped into my buddy at Tractor Supply buying chain saw lube to spray inside his doors. He reminded me of how sticky it is. Think I may try this.
I have their catalog. Gonna replace fenders and doors and then weld in some rockers. I just want to thank everyone for keeping their critical comments to themselves. I'm sure there are a few people shaking their heads at me. I only got it because I drove one in Saudi.
