Anyone interested in attending the Chatsworth Cranberry Festival and then exploring the Pines on Sunday, October, 19? This would be an all day event.
For more info on the festival: http://www.cranfest.org/festival.html
I feel like getting on the road and taking a short vacation. Anyone have any loads on the east coast? I would prefer something going south...it's warmer.
Thanks in advance!
Ok...this is the third time that I've had problems with starting my M1009. Previous times, I was able to fix it but this time I am perplexed and just about ready to call it names like %$#@*&^^%%@$@$!!!!!.
Here's the scenario:
I had slow starting a couple days in a row, signs of weak batteries...
With the passing of a few SS members recently, I have a thought:
How about a page for SS members who have passed away? It could have pictures of them, their vehicles, their SS name, and their avatar. Also, can it be made that their SS name never gets reissued?
Well, I took my Mite on the obstacle course at Northwest Mogfest. I was able to keep up with all of the Pinzgauers and most of the Unimogs. I am totally surprised at how well the Mite performed. I had it on three wheels, two wheels, and even in mid air.
For those of you who only use your Mite...
I'm up in Sheridan, Oregon at a Unimog event. The owner here has some M715 parts that he wants to get rid of. He has some rear bed fenders, doors, a grill and some other body parts.
If anyone wants these, call me so I can throw them on my trailer. I'm leaving within a couple hours...
I'll be hauling an empty trailer from the Portland, Oregon area to my home in Eureka, NV and then onto New Jersey. Email me if you have anything that has to be hauled. My rates are good, just cover my fuel.
Thanks!
I have a friend who is taking her 3/4 ton full size pickup empty both ways from the Reno area to SoCal on the weekend of August 9. She is just trying to offset her fuel costs. If anyone needs something hauled and it will fit in a pickup, please send me a pm.
Thanks,
Mike
I'm making my annual trip to Northwest Mogfest again. I will be leaving NJ on August 14 and can haul anything along the PA Turnpike, I-70, I-81 or I-40 corridor. I'll go to my home in Nevada before heading to Portland, OR. My trailer is 14' long and has a payload of 6,000 lbs. I'll be empty...
I have my M1009 listed for sale on Craigslist. I'm asking $4,500 for it. A few days ago, some Richard Cranium offered me $1,000 because the truck has lead paint on it. Needless to say, I told him what he could do with his offer and I was not nice about it. Not only was he insulting but...
I've had my M1009 listed in the SS classifieds for a while now. I've dropped the price and really need to sell it. I've got way more into it than what I am asking. It is my daily driver and I put on about 100 miles per week. I've outgrown the truck and moved up to a Suburban. I hate to sell...
Check this out...kind of a cross between a bridge truck and a Unimog. These trucks are huge!

I'm curious since I am in the process of getting a deuce...
I've done a lot of off road driving with my Unimog and have been on the trails with a few deuces. The biggest issue I see with a deuce is the location of the steps and the fuel tank. I've seen many a deuce not able to navigate an...
I tried the search feature but nothing that related to my situation:
I hopped in the M1009 and went to start it but got nothing but a buzzing noise. After a search of possible causes, the solenoid is making noise. Is this a sign of it being bad or is there something else I should check?
Thanks!
As many of the SS members may know, the MVPA is holding a convention in Portland, OR on August 14-16. This is the same time that the annual Northwest Mogfest is being held.
The organizers of Northwest Mogfest would like to invite any interested SS members to join them in a convoy to the MVPA...
I'm curious...
What are the dimensions of the bed on an M135? Is it narrower than the M35? Will it fit on an M35? I've always liked the look of the M135 beds. (image taken off the web)
Two issues:
I've been using the search as always suggested by other members and when I do, I always get a lot of pages that come up. When I click on the page numbers or the next page at the bottom, it never takes me to that page. I just get an error message: No searches match your criteria...
I will be making a trip from NJ to FL to pick up my Austin Champ within the next two weeks. I will have enough space for a Jeep (or other stuff comparable in size) on the way down.
My trailer is 14' long by 6' wide and I have about 12' of space for this trip. I can carry up to 6,000 lbs...
