I didn't think about the spool.
I can bring it down, but not on this trip. There's already enough of a beverly hillbillies vibe to my ride as it is.
Working on borrowing a small trailer to haul stuff for doc, but it's not looking good.
Jump out of the truck and do a walk-around while the buzzer is doing it's thing. You won't have to listen to it, and you'll know there aren't any flat tires and stuff like that.

Here's the story I got.
Apparently that starter is used on some cummins powered dozers, and it takes a long time for them to crank over. The oil ports are to keep the starter cool while it's doing all that work.
Don't take my word on it, because I heard it 3rd hand and this information could...
