Sorry kip, I took my dad to the airport yesterday. He's basking in the florida sun right now. (Or will be when it comes over the horizon!) I'll give you a call in a few hours. Kenny, if you get near the Tampa area, look my dad up. I'll get yu his cell number... Todd, I've been downing cough...

I'm going over pretty soon. The ground should be frozen enough to get out in the field without tearing the place up. Gotta synch the schedules, though.

    MY M54A2 has arrived

It might help to not fill the crankcase all the way. (seriously) Leave a little room for expansion so there's less oil to leak out the rear main. Don't go overboard with this, though. Very nice looking truck. We want it back!:-D

Yeah. After all the crap I've been dealing with, dad might have caught it. (The first person I know of who has...) And he's leaving for FL tomorrow morning to help some relatives. I sure hope he only has a cold. Do you need me to bring any parts besides those wheel studs n' stuff?

Here's a little more encouragement for your son. If you'd like, take it as a kick in the pants for you, too!

HOW TO : Fix Seat Cushions

One more thing that could be helpful is stretching a sheet of plastic beween the canvas and the cushion. It'll take less time to dry when you leave the top off in the rain.

    a dumb question

An old-timer once told me it was a way to keep the nuts from loosening during use. Don't know if it's true or not, or how it works. Some old cars had the same setup, like my dad's old '51 studebaker.

    a dumb question

I've had a couple of run-ins like that, too.

    looking for engine source

Are you going to be racing? If not, you could end up with a tranny that's not at all set up for what you need. You'll hate your truck. your transmission guy, and yourself. I know what you mean about shipping. Sometimes it takes some ingenuity to work things out. I got an M116 leap-frogged all...

    looking for engine source

Uncle Sam has been releasing tons of the n/a 6.2's recently. You should be able to find one in a can at a reasonable price. I just stuck a canned 6.2 in my 715 not long ago. Runs just fine for a take-out. I don't know if the TH 400 in a cucv is the same as a hmmwv unit or not, but I bet it...

    deuce w/ hiab 950 knuckleboom

I don't have anything productive to add to this thread. Just thinking how useful that setup would be and wishing to find a "sugar momma" to foot the bill.

My first Deuce~! Drove it home from Jefferson City yesterday!

That's a good looking combination right there. Here's a nickel's worth of free advice... Slow down and enjoy the scenery, it's a deuce for crimeney sake!:razz::razz: They're supposed to be slow and you're making the rest of us look bad. ;-)

hhmv hydraulic winch on a deuce

If I had the cash I'd take the 24v winch off your hands. I need something for the 715. I have a p/s pump off a 5 ton multifuel, but it'll probably need some attention before being installed. Shoot me a pm if you're interested.

    Fuel leak and Brake questions....

Good info up there. Do yourself a big favor and download the manuals. They will help with details like the m/c vent line. That stuff is kinda important.

locking out the rear axle M1009

You're looking for a kit that fits a 10 bolt. I remember seeing one in a random 4x4 magazine ad not too long ago. 4 wheel parts, I think. It's a good idea for flat towing, for sure!

picked up my S250 shelter today!

Ok pilgrim, it's time for a thread hijack. I want to see how that plan comes together. And can you get it back in with the hi lift? I suppose it'd be a good idea to start a new thread on it. [/hijack] Oh, and I dig the buffalo. Bring t to haspin!

locking out the rear axle M1009

Are you talking about rear locking hubs, or a diff locker? 1) It already has a limited slip. I suppose real lockers are available... 2)I thought I've seen 10 bolt full floater kits with locking hubs included?
