Here is a truck that is still sorta on active duty(still on the property book anyway). A friend of mine used to be the commander of Ft. Chaffee before he retired, first showed me this truck about 10 years ago. They did a decent restoration on it maybe 15 years ago, but since my friend retired...
I agree, depends on where you are in the country I suppose as far as avalability, lots of M37's in Arkansas. Within 50 square miles of me I know of at least 10 but then again I am fairly close to Ft. Chaffee and I am sure they sold a bunch out of here back in the day plus the ones that were...
As stated above that is dated 1990, doubt if it was there since 1990, while I was in I know we often shot older stocks of ammo. It would make a neat necklace:D lots of guys reload that stuff it is quality brass.
Right you are I got that pic a few months ago,
It has been my experience that a vehicle sitting right beside the road is "not for sale" as it has usually been asked about several times already. Not in the market for another truck right now but I could sure use those troop seats in the back:D
Cool truck, if the motor is stuck I have had good luck using charcoal lighter fluid down the cylinders, as long as there is no water in the block. You might be surprised but those tires might still hold air, try airing them up before recovery, makes it a bit easier.
Saw this one off a major road near me, so I am sure it has been asked about a lot. I will try to locate the owner anyway, even though it is pretty beat maybe he will let me buy a couple of parts off this one that I need for mine.
I am in the process of doing an alternator conversion on my truck using a NOS adapter harness I got from Midwest. These were originally made for converting M35 gassers to multi fuel engines with an alternator, it looks pretty straight forward and I think I have it pretty well figured out. But I...
No worries mate, I too have made that mistake in the past, never again.I was just in your neck of the woods last year my son is stationed at Ft. Lewis. I may come back in a year or so and would love to see your truck/gain some knowledge from a fellow M37 guy.
Guess I have stripped a truck or two:) The heat shield for fuel pump is there alas no original pump, my list grows and grows. A buddy of mine who also owns an M37 is gonna take about half of it and I will get the other half, should only be the cab and frame left when we are done.Probably leave...
I have a 53 M37 and of course my truck has the ETW1 carb, but I found a parts truck a later B1 that has the B&B E7T2 carb, were these also used on the M37 while in service or was it a civilian carb that was swapped over to this truck later in it's life? thanks
