    sf97

Anyone know if it is possible to request an SF97 if you buy a truck second hand and the seller didn't get one? I would guess no, but don't really know.

    tires for stock rims

I've had good luck with them. You can click on the link in my sig for pics to see how it came together. I didn't have problems with the tire hitting the drag link like AJMBlazer did running the narrow stock wheels. I didn't use bb's, but just had them balanced at the local tire shop. One they...

    tires for stock rims

If you do want to run 16.5" HMMV tires, you won't be able to use the stock 16" wheels from the CUCV. There are stock 16.5" Chevy wheels out there in 6.75, 8.25, and 9.75" widths though. I am running 37 x 16.5 HMMV tires on aftermarket 16.5 x 9.75 wheels I picked up at a swap meet for $100...

convert M1010 electical to 12V details

If you have that kind of problem in FL there is a good chance your batteries, battery cables, or alternator are needing some attention.

This thing is really noisey and slow ??

When it is cold, the timing is advanced and it makes a lot of racket. Larger tires or taller gearing will help it out alot on highway speeds. Even if you can get a M1008 up to 70mph your not going to be comfortable doing it and the mileage will suffer. As was already mentioned the ratios were...

How to take apart M1008 Door ?

I usually start at the back when working on that top edge. It feels like it will break, but I have not broken one yet out of hundreds I've messed with.

How to take apart M1008 Door ?

Remove window crank handle Remove door handle pocket Remove 2 arm rest screws and arm rest Remove remaining door panel screws Here you will need to pry from the bottom and work your way up. Getting the top off of the panel off of the door also requires some prying.

    16.5 Kelsey hayes wheels?

I just picked up a set of 16.5 x 8.25 wheels for free last week... out here they are usually being thrown away because no one wants them. My pickup has a set of aftermarket black 16.5 x 9.75 wheels that I bought with a set of HMMV 37" tires at a local swap meet for $100. Search craigslist...

    easy 12 volt convertion

As long as you own a bandsaw it would be an easy conversion.

convert M1010 electical to 12V details

Please use some punctuation... that is impossible to understand completely. If you want to convert your truck to 12V only there are a couple options. Read through these instructions: http://www.roscommonequipmentcenter.com/news_notes/nn10.pdf If you feel comfortable following those...

convert M1010 electical to 12V details

 And how many people come in here with problems with the original system? No one would ever screw that up either? People have problems and come here (and other sites) for help all the time. Troubleshooting a 12V system is no more difficult than a 12/24V system. Troubleshooting a...

convert M1010 electical to 12V details

That's at least accurate. If you can't help them, there isn't much more that you can do, but there are others out there that still can. Since most of the truck remains unchanged it is just a matter of troubleshooting what they did.

convert M1010 electical to 12V details

You do realize your CUCV runs on 12V for everything except a 24V starter... of course not, it's all 24V to you. We have been helping guys trouble shoot electrical problems on CK5 for years without any trouble. If you can't figure it out how to trouble shoot a 12V system send them over there...

Bought Another, now old must go

Your PM box is full... I'd love to buy that rig from you, but the most I could offer is $750 cash right now. I've got a good motor sitting on my engine stand waiting for a truck too...

convert M1010 electical to 12V details

Have you even looked at how simple the 12V conversion is? http://www.roscommonequipmentcenter.com/news_notes/nn10.pdf It is so simple because the truck runs on 12V with the exception of the starter, military radio, jumper slave and the glow plugs (up to the resistor). GM could have redesigned...

    Things to upgrade?

$750-1000 for a D60 vs $100-250 for a 10 bolt, plus if your already buying a 3/4 ton 14FF you are more likely to find the matching D44/10 bolt front with it for even less. I would not recommend buying 8 lug conversion parts and re-gearing your current 10 bolt though. It just comes down to how...

convert M1010 electical to 12V details

It uses the same diesel fuel gauge, idiot lights, headlight switch, wiper switch, wiper motor, ignition switch, neutral safety switch, and much more... then they add on extra wiring to accommodate the second alt. idiot light and a few other things under the hood. Looking at the wiring from an...

    Things to upgrade?

And I have yet to break anything on my 10 bolts front axles running 37" tires... it's all in how hard you are on your truck. I'm not out there to tear everything up. If you have a heavy right foot, it is wise to upgrade early before sinking a lot of cash into a 10 bolt though.

    Things to upgrade?

With 35" tires, 4.56 gears would be ideal for off-road use. But if you still plan to use it on the road 3.73/4.10's will be a good compromise between off-road and on-road performance. I'm running 4.10's with 37" tires for 90% road use/10% off-road use. Chevy 3/4 ton axles are a direct bolt in...
