is this a M1008 Dana 60 front axle?

It is a GM 10 bolt with 3.07 gears. They are not very desirable axles though. So Don't expect too much out of that one.

is this a M1008 Dana rear axle?

If you get a pic of the cover it will end the debate. But it looks like any other GM 14FF I've seen before from those pics.

You have a lot more faith in hydraulics (X2) that I ever would.

is this a M1008 Dana rear axle?

It is a GM Corporate 14 bolt full floater. If it is out of a CUCV M1008 it will also have a Detroit Locker in it. Good ENDING price for eBay would be $300-400.

    Low buck front lift?

For a 2" lift why not buy a used set of lift springs and get something that will drive nice down the road? Add-a-leafs bring the suck when it comes to road manners. Used springs can be picked up from free to cheap if you search and wait patiently.

Removing fuel tank from M1008 in the morning!

I would work on moving the bed out of the way first. Unbolting it and sliding it back can be done with one person and a couple of 4x4 posts. Then you can do all the work from the top without dropping the tank.

    VIN number

Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: VIN number It is hidden between the body and frame on the top of the frame rail usually. It will take a mirror to find it.

    New M1008

IFS is preferred by the military (at least those doing the purchasing). I remember watching the training video's when the HMMV's came out. They made a big deal about the "benifits" of IFS

    SM465/NP205 swap, what's needed?

I have a couple hydro clutch pedal assemblies for sale over on CK5... If you go that route I would buy a new master, slave and hydraulic hose. But buy the bellhousing, clutch fork and pedal assembly used.

    My M1028 and M1009 (wannabe)

Thought I would post up some pics of my projects... First is a true M1028. Odometer shows 21K and the seat looks like that is actual mileage. The truck was picked up by some civilian with a lot of ideas and absolutly no idea what he was doing before I got it. So I will have to redo/undo a...
