So I have to do this before they go away to the auction process? OK. There was one truck I was looking at, and can't find it now to bid. that's a pain.
I prefer analog metering, but it might be more prudent to go digital (3/4" red LED meters in a panel) to avoid potential vibration issues that are hard on mechanical meters. On the other hand, I have hundreds of panel meters, many boxes of them and I can redo the scales on them to suit.

Here is the replacement. 7.5KW so skightly less power, but it has lights and is pretty darn quiet. Kubota 3-cyl water cooled engine, 4500 hours, does not smoke or otherwise misbehave. should have 4500 more hours left in it. It needs cleaning, paining, and some work on the tower as the wire rope...
I always see things coming up for auction, but once the auction starts, they don't show up there.
example: searching for "m818, m817, m813" and selecting "any" keywords will show me all the shorter wheelbase 5 tons that have yet to start the auction. Same for any keywords - you see what -will-...
I can draw 13KW. That does not include peaks for starting two a/c condensing units. I am also running servers. I'll give a pitch also for civvy models, if they are good quality.
I have a Mankato 40K with a 4 cyl perkins engine and the alternator rewired for single phase so it is more like 30K...
On a wider scale, there are cities where the vehicle parking is not differentiated by use but by load capacity. It would be nice to make military vehicles exempt. pie in the sky I suppose.
M818 with a 109 box instead of the 5th wheel gets close to 26K as-is, but registered as a antique in TX, commercial should not be an issue.
I did not see where a special license was needed for the 5 ton. Did I not understand the answer?
right. pull all injectors and see if it will spin and whay comes out. Don't leave it sitting around like that either if it has water in there.. - -so attend to it!
you can add a pyrometer before the turbo. Then you can turn up the fuel. It should be OK at 1100 degrees EGT. But don't expect it to go howling up the hill, it's not made for it. If you want that, you need a different engine and it is probably less expensive to put a dodge cummins pickup motor...
key wording is "compressor mount". that is the one thing that can be a real pain unless you are an expert at fabrication. I wonder if red dot has a compressor mount for an 800 series? likely, with an NHC250.
that big thread is here...
That M52 job looks real nice. What is the propane for? Do you have more pics? I'm really wanting an 818 but I'm interested in all info..
Advantages:
More room in the box than the S280 shelter.
Wide hatch in the 109 box. ATV will fit in.
250HP Cummins NHC250 engine - every shop knows how to work...
My father used to very frequently make thermostat gaskets from gasket material sheet, and also used non-corrugated cardboard (like cereal box) for some places. He also would rebuild the starter and alternator, replacing brushes burnishing the commutator or slip rings, etc. Rochester carbs too...
