The engine should shut down when the hand throttle is pushed to the stop. You shouldn't have to move the hand throttle to the left and further down. It took some time to adjust properly, but mine works correctly. To start, I simply pull the hand throttle back about 1 cm and shutting down I...
I had the same problem with my FLU419. I replaced the rod with a new one from EI, the old one was bent like a pretzel. I also replaced all springs. I then dismantled everything and cleaned it up. You don't need to tilt the cab. It is really tight in there, but tilting the cab isn't...
I think you are over-thinking this. I agree that removing the glow plugs is the way to go, but why worry about the angle of your adapter for sealing? Why not simply wrap the threads with teflon tape to do your compression test. You aren't running the engine, only spinning it with the starter...
I found that if you open the petcock on the bottom and make sure it is cleaned out with a piece of wire and then crank the starter with the petcock open until clean fuel runs out the petcock, it takes very little cranking to start the engine after a filter change. I actually leave the petcock...
I store very little diesel fuel for my generator. However, I have a deuce, a diesel FLU419, two JD diesel tractors, a diesel Mercedes car, and a diesel F250. I simply use a dip tube into the fuel tanks of the vehicles to fill the day tank on the MEP003A generator. Since vehicle fuel tanks...
I love my M1030M1. The only thing I don't like about it is that it sits very high, and although I'm 5'8" my feet barely touch the ground. Otherwise, I really like it. It really handles well and has a lot of torque. I've only had a few problems since I got the bike 4 years ago. I had a...
According to the specs in the TMs, an M1102 trailer should fit in the bed of an M35A3, albeit a tight fit. Has anyone actually done that? I would feel better if I knew that someone had actually moved an 1102 in a deuce bed before I try it many hours from home.
I'm not surprised that you got a lot of spark when disconnecting the battery cables. If you disconnect the cables while the starter is engaged, there is a very large amount of current flowing.
The MEP803A is supposed to have 800U batteries installed with 800 CCA at 0 deg. F. and 1000 CA at 32 deg. F. Normally, the genset doesn't require batteries that large, but you do live in Alaska. I've seen a lot of Optima Red Tops in those generators. It also sounds suspicious to me that only...
I dumped mine one time off-roading and broke a mirror stalk. The mirror was identical with the civilian model, as are the turn signals. There are some OEM turn signals on Ebay right now. I would try to keep it 100% original.
Attached is a photo of the battery bracket installed. As you can see, the cooling fins on the battery are intact because I used a longer nylon bushing to give them clearance. I have no idea why HDT didn't do the same thing.
Sorry for the delay - I was unable to take the photos until today. The chisel bit has CDB USA stamped on it so it apparently isn't made by Stanley. Attached are the photos.
Welcome to the site. You will enjoy your diesel bike. I've had one for several years now. So far it has been mostly dependable. Does yours run good? I was lucky in that mine ran perfect when received. What about a title? I was also lucky in that mine came with a clear title. Do you have...
