I was dealing with a certain federal agency before I retired. I found that some of my licensing applications would clear in a few days and others took weeks to several months. I found out that as licensing applications were received by the government agency, they placed them in a stack on one...
I put Opti-Lube XPD in all of my diesel trucks and tractors and my diesel M1030M1 motorcycle. In a test, Opti-Lube outperformed all of the other additives. I've attached a copy of the test results on lubricity for the additives. Some additives, like Marvel Mystery Oil actually decreased...
You can filter the diesel to get the free water out. You can buy filter funnels for filtering water out of diesel. You may find someone who wants the filtered diesel, perhaps someone that burns fuel oil for heat. Otherwise, you have 50 gallons of contaminated diesel that you need to dispose...
I would rinse the fuel tank out with clean water and then rinse out the tank with a garden sprayer filled with isopropyl alcohol. You can then dry the inside of the tank with a hair dryer.
You can see the water level from the rust on the air cleaner housing at the gauges. It looks like total immersion of everything that counts. The only good news here is that it was fresh water and not salt water. After you get it home, I would pull the valve cover off as well as the oil pan...
I have never had anything like that happen with my FLU. I have used both the loader and backhoe heavily in both hot summer weather and cold down to the mid-20s as well as some work with the hydraulic tools. Possibly the only difference is that I have 10 weight non-detergent motor oil motor...
You can try something called the crackle test to determine if there is water in the oil.
Monitor Water-In-Oil with the Visual Crackle Test (machinerylubrication.com)
You can also take a sample to a lab and they can measure the water content with Karl Fischer reagent titration, but this will...
With 14 feet of water, you had a total submersion. You will almost definitely have water in some cylinders. Make sure you get it out before trying to get the engine to run. Like Porkyplace said, I hope it was cheap. You have a lot of work ahead of you. How long ago was it in the flood? If...
Do you know how deep the water was in the flood? Do you know how long portions of the truck were submerged? I would make an effort to find out because this could steer you into what needs to be remedied. It is good that the flood was fresh water and not salt water. The M35A3 is a very good...
Power finally came back on after ~6 hours on the MEP003A. The temperature was in the 20s so it worked out good. Now I don't have to fire it up for my monthly test.
We had a small 2-inches of snowfall last night and for some reason we lost the power from our EMC. I suspect someone hit a utility pole or something. The EMC said that a crew was still working on the problem, so it must be somewhat significant. I fired up the MEP003A last night and it is...
Don't rule out the MEP003A. You can get single phase @240 VAC or three phase and it is air cooled, so no liquid coolant issues. I've been using mine for whole-house backup for many years without issue. Very reliable.
