A word of advice to everyone. Try and diagnose the problem before resorting to ether. Especially when it is warm outside.

Look on egay. There's a Chinese company that makes and sells a clone HH. It's about half the price of an ambac one and most people who have used one don't seem to have any problems with it.
There may be your problem. It should rotate easily also. I suspect you may need a new head. Don't forget to change the o rings when you put a new head in.
They tell you not to downshift the deuce because you risk over revving the engine. Diesel engines do not have a throttle plate so they don't offer much braking effect when downshifting. That's why large diesel trucks often have exhaust brakes. Which the deuce lacks.

Yes ambac will sell the clip directly to the customer. I believe it is best to call them. Their online order feature of their website is horrible. I wish I had the part # of that clip.
I have heard you can get a new clip and it will fix the problem. Can't say for sure since I have never tried it. But a clip is a few dollars. A new head is several hundred. I'd say it's worth a try.
I mounted mine on the firewall just so I wouldn't have to mess with that stupid trap door. I can even pressure bleed my brakes from the side panel. That valve in the picture is above a tee that I can hook my pressure bleeder to. I don't have to get under the truck except to bleed the air...
