Technical Assistance needed for non-starting Deuce (76 degreess outside)

It's not nearly as scary as you may think. P.m. me for my phone # if you want.

    Master Brake Cylinder Upper Fitting?

If your wanting to install a remote brake fluid reservoir then simply plug off that copper line that isn't attached to anything. You should be able to remove the line at that tee fitting and plug it with a brake line plug. Then remove that bobble head vent from the m/c cap and screw in a...

Technical Assistance needed for non-starting Deuce (76 degreess outside)

The next thing I would try is pulling the center bolt on the HH and insert a wooden dowl. Then have someone crank the engine over. This will let you know if the plunger inside the hh is moving up and down. Or you can pull the hh and verify the button is on the bottom of the plunger and that...

Technical Assistance needed for non-starting Deuce (76 degreess outside)

I'm not a fan of using ether period. Unless it is super cold and metered through an ether start system. A word of advice to everyone. Try and diagnose the problem before resorting to ether. Especially when it is warm outside.

The red tooth let's you know the hh is timed correctly. It can be 180° out.

Pull the front valve cover. You want the mark on the harmonic balancer to line up with the pointer on top dead center on cylinder #1. Both valves should be closed. It's a 50/50 shot. If it's off roll the engine over one more revolution. Then line the mark up with the pointer on the...

    M35A2 wheel spacers

A3 wheels work perfect on my truck. No rubbing issues that I have found.

Look on egay. There's a Chinese company that makes and sells a clone HH. It's about half the price of an ambac one and most people who have used one don't seem to have any problems with it.

There may be your problem. It should rotate easily also. I suspect you may need a new head. Don't forget to change the o rings when you put a new head in.

Does the plunger move up and down and rotate freely?

    M35A2 wheel spacers

I would suggest upgrading to 2 piece combat wheels. They have the correct offset for large radials.

Deuce Driving Experience Compared to Civvy?

They tell you not to downshift the deuce because you risk over revving the engine. Diesel engines do not have a throttle plate so they don't offer much braking effect when downshifting. That's why large diesel trucks often have exhaust brakes. Which the deuce lacks. You should, however...

Yes ambac will sell the clip directly to the customer. I believe it is best to call them. Their online order feature of their website is horrible. I wish I had the part # of that clip.

I have heard you can get a new clip and it will fix the problem. Can't say for sure since I have never tried it. But a clip is a few dollars. A new head is several hundred. I'd say it's worth a try.

Front mud flaps on a bobbed deuce?

It has been done. There isn't a ready made mount so you will have to fab one. Not a big deal.

Why pre checks can save your life.

I mounted mine on the firewall just so I wouldn't have to mess with that stupid trap door. I can even pressure bleed my brakes from the side panel. That valve in the picture is above a tee that I can hook my pressure bleeder to. I don't have to get under the truck except to bleed the air...

    Fuel issues

Now that I have thought about it you may be onto something with that plunger sticking idea. That clip that holds the button on is pretty flimsy so I have often wondered why it would all of the sudden break off. It does seem to be remarkably common. I don't know if it's a design flaw or as I...

That is exactly why I installed one of these.
