Well, made it back home, no "Murphy". Only issue I had, was to remove the sideboards off one of the trailers in the truck bed. Once loaded, it was 14'10" high. That's a no-no. Took care of that with some lube, crowbar, a hammer, and a whole lot of sweat in that GA heat.
Left Sunday headed up to GA to pick up some 105's. Using the company truck for the first 250 miles (a/c, radio, cruise) then unloaded the 928 at a truckstop for the remainder of the trip up. Dam, it's hot up here in GA. Thanx to MDMORGAN for pulling one off base for me a couple weeks ago. And...
Commercial trucks have to go around at all times now. If traffic on the beltway was messed up, I would usually sneak thru town anyway. In a deuce, I personally wouldn't do it during rush hours, too much stop and go.
AND........you can't drive it off base! So you need to figure a haul/tow off base. Which raises another question.....who in their right mind would want to drive one that far!!!!
