Good question. Can't say as I've seen those plates on any of the deuces I've done. Do you have the complete serial number? Off the left front frame section, near the shock?
These motors were not designed to be run full out for extended periods. No problem during shifting. Even commercial engines have a 2100 max rpm, but are only turning about 1600 rpm at 70 mph.
The liners don't get enough oil, along with heat buildup, and this happens.......
