If it doesnt already have it add the second tail light on the right side the orignal single tail light isnt good for modern use but i have operated my 715 for 13 yrs ok w the smaller type lights
Yes radium paint was put on gauge dials so they glowed in the dark, alot of civ clocks an such were also painted that way from the 20's to the 60's, however alot of the factory workers were killed by exposure to that paint. here is their story:

Everyone selling a vehicle that doesnt run says it wasnt anything much, so why didnt they fix it then? Obviously one that runs well is worth more one that doesnt run at all! I would suspect a blown head gasket at least, maybe all three items you mentioned.
The cold start not working could make it hard to start but wouldnt prevent it from starting, although if the glow plugs arent all working on a cold day an the cold adv not working it likley wouldnt start. be sure to test each glow plug individually also. If the glow plugs all work and the shut...
You could add an ammeter into your truck but you would need to add some wiring. The voltgauge only needs a power wire and a ground to work. An ammeter has to be 'inline' with the power flow, say in the wire coming from the alternator to the battery, however the gauge couldnt hold up agianst...
I wasnt aware that any vehicles equipped w/ an alternator had ammeters , I thought they were all voltmeters (charge indicator), the early trucks w/ generators all had ammeters orignally. It requires a 'shunt' be designed into the wiring to accomodate an ammeter an they were found in the old...
OK then the truck was likley attached to A co. and was the 22nd in line for convoy. These markings can be sometimes a bit difficult to decipher depending on how they abbr. the info. 143 group an 1st engineers, dont know what the last 143 is for, maybe a battalion or squad, some smaller...

The 925 cargo will be cheaper than the wrecker of course. Either will be I imagine very expensive to get an maintain. Yes you would need a cdl based on the weight an the fact it has air brakes alone. Additionaly you might need an overload permit an fuel tax stickers as well as D.O.T...
Im not sure what they will do, since they fit all the mil applications they are leaving out a big chunk of trucks, however i guess the mil already has a good stock of new ones and parts in the system. I dont know if the newer hummers and hemmits are using them or not, perhaps they figure they...
I have seen alot of discussion about rebuilding these on here, some have had little luck. I was aware of only one place that could properly rebuild these: CME Arma in Fla. 305-633-1524. In yrs past I had tried to get an ordinary alt shop to do mine but they always said the parts werent avial...
So likely the cucv unit was the A2, but what was the A1? I imagine dual lights came along same as all other MV's but I dont think that constituted an A1 model did it?
