Here is a link, if you want PM me and I will give you my phone number. I can talk you through a ammeter bypass and how to convert to a volt meter like the rest of the modern world.

Take it from a DODGE expert, its going to be a problem at your bulkhead wiring connector at the fire wall, or the ****ty Ammeter just blew its connections ! I have owned over a dozen 1976 through 1982 dodge trucks with the ****ty design. ALL the power for the truck goes through a weak spade...
Went, first time I went to this one, now I know to skip it next year. I love vendors who don't have parts for common vehicles with them, but drag oddball crap. Or the ones who keep quoting " on line " prices. I came with a pocket full of cash, and left with it.
Bummer..................
Optimizer 6.5 upgrades, including the aftermarket turbo. A 700R4 transmission from TCI, set up for towing/ diesel applications. Secondary transmission cooler, the big one. OR try to find a General Products engine. Here is whats from their website .
Created by General Engine Products, a...
You have to love EUC forms, I know a heavy equipment dealer who used to buy the trucks , fill out the EUC that they were going to be scrapped , then ship the trucks out of the country in sections in sea containers.
I would stick with the 6.5. There are a lot of " General Products " 6.5 engines in the crate available with the updated optimizer heads. I think a company named Meltron Industries in New Jersey lost their contract with the Federal Government and are sitting on a pile of these engines. I know...
Sound like a lot of work, that according to my Rockwell axle books cannot be done. The size and technical issues are really beyond the scope of sanity !
Just got all the crap off the dash and the bums removed the data plate. I guess they did it when they were installing the vhf radio. The mike holder was screwed through one of the holes. Who ever wired their extra lighting should be pistol whipped, you do not use wire nuts ment for house...
After your done replacing them, coat them with ZINC RICH primer. We use it on everything. I found it stops the rust dead. We have one dozer painted with it and it has not started to peel or have rust popping out for the past seven years sitting out in the weather. We have it as a static...
I have to check again once I remove all the fire department stickers and crud from over the data plate. Just like the hard top is perfect, except for the ten or so holes drilled in it for their emergency lights that are no longer there.
Well, my old one still sits in the woods behind my shop, it died of a broken back. Jeeps are fun, until you realize that little bucket of bolts costs more than a Rolls Royce in the end.
I saw a trailer listed for sale, I have not gone to see it in person yet as its an hour away. I have these two pictures, any body know what this is and its approximate age ?
Yes, its a PTO winch. I never had a problem with these , even when I had them on an old tow truck. I have to admit, I like the classic look of these trucks over the newer CAT powered trucks.
Yes she has a winch, just replaced the usual sheared shear pin. Its also got a air intake heater. I like the fact it has the old Mack 673 engine. I used to have one in a B model mack. Its not running smooth, I think after I run it a bit it might clean up. It was sitting four years.
