I have a 700R4 in my Federal Chevy Suburban . It has a 6.2 diesel and the both are a good match. As far as converters, I would ask, what are you doing ? Towing ? Off Roading ? Or are you looking for max fuel efficiency ? TCI and Perfect Shift make some nice ones for Diesel power. Gas ones...
Funny thing, I am reading the news this morning and I see Michelin RECALLS 1.2 Million tires. All of the tires are in the Truck / RV/ Medium Duty range.

You got that right, Chinese Rubber is garbage. I put four new tires, Firestones on my M1009 three years ago. Drove it maybe 8K miles . Not only are they cracked and showing rot, but the rubber was so soft it wore through two thirds in that mileage ! But sad to say there are very few...
I had NYLON tires on one of the Deuces I had, they had no visible dry rot or anything that would tip you off to a problem. Drove the truck all summer, no problems. First day it was 10 degrees you would swear the front end of my truck was going to fall off. Rough shaking and wobble. Checked the...
If its just bearings and you did not bust up the ring and pinion I would just re bearing the bugger and put new seals in it. I have rebuilt over a dozen 1 ton Chevy rears over the years, its easy and not too bad of a job if you have the tools. Shimming and setting things up can be fun, but...
there is a fast idle solenoid on the Fuel injection pump, I had one jam due to rust. If that happens it will not idle at all. Also how does it run when you have your foot on the pedal ? Does it run rough ? Black smoke ? White Smoke ?
""""The M-17 Mount trailer was for the Quad 50 anti aircraft gun. These have a slight "dish" in the sheet metal at the top inside of the body panels, located about midway from front to back. This was to allow clearance for the "swing "of the quad as it rotated. Also has a tailgate that looks...
Yes she does crank over but the pony motor has bad points. Looking for points as CAT says they no longer stock magneto parts. The radiator is still full of antifreeze and the oil looks clean. We pulled two of the tires off today and checked the axles and brakes, the brakes are still intact ...
I picked up this generator and I need help finding its identity. I know its a WW2 trailer, and the gen set is about the same vintage but the data plates are gone or incomplete. I can make out Signal Corps on one plate with a model 1** ? The rest is illegible. Here is what I can tell you, its...
Guys I would go with the weather being factor if not for the fact all the tires on this truck were outside for the past ten years. The tires were on the truck when I bough it. So weather and sunlight is not a factor !
Hello, I was getting ready to move one of my trucks to its new storage area and I looked at the tires. Five of the 10 year old tires I bought were cracked and dry rotted so bad, I did not think they would make the 50 mile trip. But the rest I never changed, that came with the truck were perfect...
I have a 1960 M38a1 for parts, the body is shot, but the drive line is intact the rear frame section was rotted, I just gave up on it. Sus[ension was all there, axles were good, Strange thing though it had M151 style rims.
I guess you like to spend money.
Like I said in the other post I did last month, I bought two Billet Alumium Radiators, They cool better, last longer and I paid $220 each everything fit perfect, both my 6.2 military trucks have them. No Problems !
SEE photos again.
