I think there needs to be some evidence presented that the D engine changes did not include the "D" turbo. The wikipedia M35 article states the quieter Turbo went on the D engines, so obviously there's some conflicting documentation out there.
In any event, these engines are presented to be...
Danl, lets hope they stole at least $5,000 worth of scrap and took it over the border to NH. That's both a Maine felony and a Federal Interstate Commerce Crime. They'll get what they deserve, nothing to feel bad about.
Well, its a little worse than that. Seems the young man scrapping the truck didn't have permission to do so but did so anyway after Danl left. No other details other than thanks to Danl the real owner is aware and is pursuing recovery of his property.
Never happened to me, but I've observed my hood unlatched after moving the truck around in the yard. I try to remember to look at the hood latches, in my pre-flight inspection, during engine warm up as I'm walking around to the front to check the turn signals.
I'm still planning to come but I'm not tied to the date. If we need to postpone to accommodate other people's schedules I'm happy to take the time to fix holes in my 109 roof. I seem to be finding lots of leaks lately...
DA: Denatured Alcohol. You can also wipe down with acetone/mineral spirits but it doesn't evaporate as quickly, the problem being if the cleaner/degreaser hasn't fully evaporated before top coating the paint job could fail.
Yes, mix in an enamel hardener with the paint and thinner if you want...
After moving a full battery box with hawkers I don't think I'll go back to them. HEAVY!!! The Optima Red tops I have now crank faster and are much lighter! I can also swap optimas between my deuce, jeep, and GMC in a pinch if I need to.
Edit: I also like the extra set of "GM" terminals on...
It can be sprayed over existing oil based enamels but you'll want to scuff/lightly sand the existing coat and make sure its clean and degreased. I wipe down all surfaces I'm going to paint with denatured alcohol.
I haven't had any see-through issues on different colors of Carc, but I do go...
You can put my name down for one, I'd be interested in the O rings too.
I've read the Chinese HH threads, one going back to 2006. Interesting thing is this isn't a US company that has outsourced its production to China. Its a Chinese company that appears to have recognized the demand for...
Gimp (and I) are using a spin on kit from Westfolk that uses filters with a different 13/16-16 thread. The smallest filter recommended for that kit is the Napa 1060 (5 inches tall).
How long does it take to "start to build" pressure? Given the filters peashooter is using I interpret he's using the Jatonka kit, which advertise 2-3 seconds to start building pressure. If its less than that maybe there's an external problem, like the oil pickup screen in the pan is clogged...
Sounds like he may have bought and installed the horn button kit, but the problem was the horn solenoid all along.
I pulled my hair out trying to troubleshooting my air horn problem and almost ordered a new horn button kit. Then I remembered I had an electric horn too. I plugged the electric...
Just wondering if a SS member had bought my Uncle's 1952 M38A1 "Marine Jeep" with M116 trailer. I think it sold on ebay back in 2004-ish. This was before I got into MVs.
The buyer I think was from New York. The seller was George Doody in Saco, Me.
I know its a Marine Jeep because I once...
