My M35A3 always starts almost instantaneously. It never turns over more than half a revolution before it fires up. It starts up much faster than my M35A2 multifuel ever did. One thing to be aware of on M35A3s is the check valve in the fitting on top of the fuel tank. Small amounts of trash...
I'm not sure why you installed an electric fuel pump and did the bypass. I would recommend bringing the fuel system back to original. Take the alternator off and have it checked out by a shop. Make sure they know ahead of time that it's a 24 VDC alternator.
I'm assuming you are talking about the red switch on the tower? It is actually an air valve. I've seen them on Ebay in the past. It's not good to bypass that valve. You can look in the TM for the manufacturer and part number, but I did it for you. The NSN is: 4820013688562. The part...
Edit: I was having problems with the swing pedals on my backhoe. I worked out the problem and everything mostly now works like it should with the swing pedals. I have also fixed the problem with my left stabilizer. I'm slowly working through issues.
You might want to see if someone in your area has an M35A3 that you can look at to see which air lines go where. Sometimes, looking at diagrams and text in the TMs doesn't make things clear. You don't want to make a mistake and switch the two airlines.
I had a similar experience with one of my deuces (not a dump) a few years back. I wrote down 1,000 pounds. They added a zero and put 10,000 pounds in. Actually not overloaded since I was on paved roads 95% of the trip and deuces are rated for 5 tons on paved roads. However, I had several...
Have you read the TMs? The TMs show exactly where the airlines are hooked up. TM 9-2320-386-24-1-2 shows specific instructions on the removal and installation of the transmission, including airline.
Gillespie paint is not CARC. It is a CARC substitute that matches the color of CARC very closely. It holds up very well in my experience. As far as urethane paint goes, airplanes are painted with urethane paint and they don't seem to have a problem. I repainted my Cessna 152 years ago with...
I have painted several military vehicles and trailers with Gillespie 383 green. I have put it directly on top of the CARC. Even more than 10 years later, I haven't had a problem with pealing or anything else. The only place I've used primer is where I've encountered rust. I remove as much...
The rod that goes through the engine was really bound up with rust. I've been spraying white lithium grease and mostly freed it up. I disconnected the linkage from that rod on the drivers side. I can now shut the engine off by manually moving the linkage to the injector pump to the rear. One...
When you say 'cable' do you really mean cable? On mine there is a steel rod that screws into a ball joint on the bottom and the top is threaded. On my SEE, there aren't any cables anywhere on the throttle mechanism. Mine is bent badly right where the threads start on the top and is causing...
As Scoobyshep said, don't let the engine idle. Once it starts, adjust the RPM so that you get 60 Hz. Leave it there or make small adjustments to keep it near 60 Hz. When shutting down, shut it down when it reads 60 Hz. Never let the engine idle or it will damage the VR. These are fantastic...
Just make sure you roll your cart on plywood sheets as others suggested. Otherwise, those small wheels will sink immediately in the soft ground you mentioned.
Does anyone know of a source for an alcohol evaporator tank with all of the fittings and hose that is in good condition? I removed mine for cleaning. Although mine has a new looking cap on it, the tank was about half full of dirt and sand and all of the fittings are rusted solid. Someone was...
How do you know the batteries are good? I would recommend charging the batteries. If you don't have a 24 VDC charger, use a 12 VDC charger and charge each battery separately. I had a 6TL battery in one of my deuces fail unexpectedly. Headlights worked. Starter wouldn't turn over. I...
I need to replace the main air line from the downloader to the air tanks. I want to use stainless steel. I've found a 6 foot piece of 10 mm O.D. stainless with 2 mm wall thickness. However, I'm trying to find the correct ferrules for the connections. I can use the original nuts, but I don't...
Mine came with the chainsaw as well. Actually, I haven't even removed the hydraulic tools from the compartments. I've been too busy with other issues. The jackhammer looks almost new. The chainsaw and drill look used but in good shape.
