The goal is make a loop from the draw straw in the tank to the end of the return line. Observing what is normally hidden. Air could be entering from any hose, fitting, gasket, anywhere.

Run your fuel supply line from the check valve connection, and the return line into a glass jar. Any air ? Looking for tiny bubbles. time it and full the jar. Do the same and compare to another for fuel volume

Never let it go lower than 60 hz. Dont throttle down at shutdown. Dont warm it up at idle. Set it and forget it. Maybe tickle it with a feather to adjust when loaded. :beer:

The aluminum panels ID tags and the aluminum part of the bi-metal aerouquip fuel line fittings can be telling regarding maintenance. I lucked into some RESET units with the tags hidden near the glow plug. Bought them @ 1200hr's EA because the aluminum was purty. went for average price, got 8...

Guessing voltage regulator but it could be a few things. Do you have a Tech manual yet? If so, time to get one and or get reading. Should have all the self tests one will need to diagnose problems with a multimeter.

The 'fuel thing' is the auxiliary pickup. Useful for drums and certain jerry cans. (not nato forgot if it is scepter style or old school steel usgi) Shutters open when it gets hot. See here for ordering some viton (way better than what comes with the fram buna?)...

Good info the fram's dry up and leak. If you keep the day tanks clean and full its way cheaper and easier to just keep the old fram setup vs a spin on deal.
