I drove the M211 50 feet and blew a brake line. the one from the master cylinder to the brake light switch. Made a new line and fixed it, went another foot and blew the line from the switch to the air pak. Decided I was not driving it that day. Fate was giving me a message, stay parked !
Its no diffrent than the kids today buying a $500 car and putting a $4000 stereo system in it. Yes its only worth the $500, but it seems a little cooler. I thought I saw a set on a website that sells military truck parts for around $2500. Have you really shopped around and called and haggled...
I made the mistake of teaching her how to fire a gun. I started her on a 22, now she is really good with my 45 colt. She made it clear no more purchases with out telling her first. She has really gotten to like the Blazer, she now wants me to put it on the road and get a radio for it.
If you really want to mess some one up, fill a 5 gallon fuel can with gas and mix in a bottle of water based Napa valve grinding compound. Their fuel pump, injectors and valves will be shot by the time they are finished using the fuel. Add the compound to a quart of oil and put it in an engine...
Now that's skill, Congratulations. The GMC truck engine was a tough animal, but as most are over 50 years old things are going to let loose. There is one on the web all hot rodded out with three carbs and a cam.
We had 14 trucks on a water main install site, every truck had its gas stolen and one of the machines had a rubber hose by it. There were houses up and down the four block area but no one saw anything !
Try an old Chevy pickup bench seat, that is what one of my trucks has, the owner before me removed the rotted original seats put two sections of unistrut under the seat and it sits a little lower about three inches. It has plenty of room and is comfy.
I know I should have hid it, And yes I have fleet insurance I pay about $1180 every six months.
The worst part is I am selling off a lot of the older ones I restored because the Military Vehicle bug has bitten me. I love to drive them, the looks I get, the overall simplicity of the vehicles to...
Very nice trucks, by the time the military gets rid of all their excess trucks, we out here in the private sector will own more military trucks than they do.
Well everybody she has calmed down a little after I fired it up and took her for a drive around the parking lot. She is now talking about getting it painted and removing the top and using it this summer. But you have to understand her point a little, I list my " Military Vehicles " here on...
Every deuce I ever worked on or had was NEGATIVE GROUND. The only positive ground trucks I had were old school Mack, Brockway, trucks and early Diamond T . And they were all civilian trucks.
OK I just bought a M211, well I won an auction and ended up with another truck today. MY wife to be will be back today, she does not know yet. She is Irish and has a temper, Does any one have a bomb shelter I can hide in?
Here are pictures of the truck.
Its a military blazer, the radiator is...
My EUC took nearly five weeks on two military trailers. But on a small arms tool set it was only about two weeks. It is all up to the gods of the bureaucracy. They check out your life with a microscope to make sure your not some evil power out to rule the world with your thirty year old trailer.
I have gotten picky, I mostly buy the Kennedy diesel ones. Anti-seize is nice in small amounts , otherwise it affects the heat transfer to the block to allow uniform bleed off.
First chance you get go to a truck junk yard that has old trucks. Look for the old GMC Or Chevy C70 or C80 series powered by a 427,366 0r 454. You will need the engine to compressor bracket and oil feed lines. Oil is fed under pressure from the engine and circulates to the air compressor. I do...
