I think I need the rubber fuel return hose that goes from the fuel filters down to the frame and connects to the copper line.
It's leaking pretty good. I took the lower connection apart, cleaned and put it back together, but it still leaks. I can't tell for sure where it's leaking from. It...
So I went to blow my horn for my little guys today and, "nothing". Was working fine last week, although the button was a little stiff to push. I figure it had to be the button, so I took it apart. It's the older style horn and the rubber pads that hold it together (riveted to the steel plate)...
So I added a longer slobber tube today. I got the NAPA one 3' 1.25" I.D. I noticed on the metal part of the tube that curves down and out around the turbo, there is an air line plumbed in. Right above it there is another threaded hole with nothing in it. I was trying to trace the airline...
So my truck has the transfer case PTO, so I guess it wasn't built as a cargo truck.
I do have the air shift transfer case though.
Now I see there is linkage from the rod that sticks out at the back of the transmission and goes down and attaches back to the transmission. Nothing goes anywhere...
After fighting with the wrong cargo cover last week for hours. I decided to put the one that fits on the truck today. It looks like a new old stock cover. The metal buckles were rusted and corroded almost like battery acid ate them. I cleaned them up and painted them. Got the top all lined...
I got a kit to install seat belts in my truck. I have a springer seat. It came with the instructions that are written in latin apparently because I can't make any sense of it. I think the diagrams are shrunken down versions of the original. I'm literally looking at them with a magnifying...
Installing the rear cargo cover. It's the vinyl one. Doesn't have the ends attached.
Do the clips go on the inside or the outside?? I'm thinking those canvas reinforced corners should be on the inside?? I looked that the TM and it wasn't very detailed.
Is there a way we can still get this info? I saw this awesome thread is closed:http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?45889-2010-VIN-Info-Thread/page78. I'ld love to get this info on my truck.
1959 Kaiser Jeep w/ winch

Well my truck got here today right on time today. Here's the thread on the purchase: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?124691-Finally-coming-to-fruition!!-Getting-a-Deuce!
I think I got a really good deal. I paid $6,000 for the truck. Cost me another $1,000 to get it shipped here...
I just committed to a duece that will be in my hands on Saturday. When I test drove it, the engine and transmission were pretty oilly and greasy. I want to clean it all up so I can track down and fix any leaks. What's the best way to clean her up? Is a pressure washer a no-no? What's a good...
After years of yearning for a Deuce, it's finally happening!! I have had an offer accepted on a nice looking winch truck. I am getting what I think is a screaming good deal on the truck. Fiberglass troop seats, lots of spare parts (14 wheels and tires!), cargo cover, etc. etc. Looks like it...
So I spent all week moving to our new place over in Idaho.
On my last trip over Teton Pass (WY HWY 22) on Sunday I passed a M109 with a paper temp tag. He was struggling up the 10% grade in a near zero visibility torrential down pour. Didn't look like too much fun, but looked like a cool...
Snowcat Vehicles: Bombardier / Camoplast / Scot-Trac / Nodwell : Safety One
Not sure what they want for it.
I thought it would weigh alot more than that. Kind of odd they are considering it a "snow cat". Looks like it would sink like a rock to me.
Kind of an obscure question. Anyone know why the door sill is a circular shape? The door is square, but then it looks like they have added a plate?
Looks like it would make it harder to get in and not bust your shins all the time. Is it to strengthen the cab? A throwback to the WWII dueces...
Was visiting my nephew in FH on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. On a food run we passed the VFW and there was a nice Duece there. I wanted to stop and check it out, but it was night time, and didn't want to get shot or anything.
Flew from Wyoming to Dayton, OH then drove to Detroit and the...
I missed the close. Anyone know what it finally went for? Anybody here get it? Sure looked nice compared to most of the junk on GSA. Running condition and even the CTIS appeared to be working. Sure wanted to bid on it, but the idea of doing a recovery from Bismarck, ND in December scared...
Made a really tough decision and sold my Pinz. The shipper will be here in a few hours to get her, and I'm just plain sick to my stomach.:-(
Never really had an "emotional" attachment to a vehicle before.
I've been obsessing over Dueces for a while and trying to learn all I can about them...
