I use JC Taylor too, just make sure you tell them you can store it inside if you want more than liability coverage. If they write in MA, they will probably also write in NJ.
3,000 pounds towed..... Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicle - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
agreed on a class III hitch and wiring harness....and a brake controller if the popup has them.
my 1009 has underwhelmed me about it's brakes next to my 25 year newer civvy yukon, even with new brakes...
make sure you explore the need for a cdl, registration and insurance costs as you weight deuce vs 5 ton. Laws and rules vary from state to state, but you're usually in CDL territory with a 5 ton, with the resultant commercial plates and insurance costs. That was the biggest surprise for me...
yeah, the oak tree beside my driveway got a 'kiss' from my deuce bumper becuase of it's tight turning radius.....but I didn't see any evidence of tires rubbing on my a3. Losing air, yes, leaking oil yes, but not rubbing...:)
I guess for number of miles I'm driving my a3 per year 8-10 didn't make as much of a dent next to 10-12.

Filters and a transyn fluid change coming once the weather gets a little...
I can speak from personal experience that the olds 5.7 diesel was gawdawful., at least in the olds cutlass I owned.
I don't think someone who can't see the difference between the 5.7 and 6.2 should be doing much to your truck beyond setting tire pressures.

Thank you for your recovery work, and thanks for bringing the forum back up.
This has also gotten me off my butt to go and patch the VB forum I am an admin on, because I don't want to see this...
listening to the CAT scream at 2700, and being at just 50 hurts me. I like 40-45 much better, and so does the truck.
I'd really, really REALLY like higher gearing, but I am not willing to double the cost of my truck to do that. I follow every single gearing change post here, because I still...
My 1998 came out of GL @ Ft. Meade. It had 460 miles on the clock when i bought it.
It will need tires, batteries, and a thorough PM, to start. I had to get a replacement CTIS controller, and I still need to service the airpack dryer.
I stopped counting when I hit 10K on mine in costs...
you might be ready for the right lane, but an A3 is a whole different ball of wax. With the 3116 and Allison auto trans, you are talking about 50MPH at the 2700RPM redline in 4th gear with stock tires, and MAYBE 54MPH with 395's. The stock motor is out of push at that speed anyway. Also...
