m1009 "clanking" noise when put in reverse...

Is your truck parked on the flat or on an incline when engaging reverse? I had a turbo 350 that did that, and it checked out okay. My 4LE60 did the same thing, that just got replaced awaiting pickup tomorrow. I am by no means an expert here, but thats what I have experienced with a similar...

What RPM do you guys Get the Best MPG's at?

So what I get out of that graph is that you should burn about 11.1 Gals per Hour,Diesel weighs 7.15 pounds per gal, at rated power. Rated power is at 2600 RPMs, which equates to 55-56 MPH, right? So if my math is right, might not be, you should see like 5 MPGs. Everyone says they are getting...

How accurate is your fuel gauge?

I did not know a 1009 had duals:? Maybe you could just pump all the fuel out. Then figure out how much a 1/4 tank should be, then add that amount.

    Cooling of CUCV during summer.

Or just get a cheap cooler, some ducting, a small 12v fan, and a few bags of ice. I am sure this solution has been discussed before, but why not pull the A/C unit out of a Civy truck? I am sure you guys could figure it out, and with a little thought I could too, but it would be a much cheaper...

The "HOOD IN THE FACE" club

I have yet to join this club and hope I dont. I have however left the pintle open after hooking up a trailer I am not used too ( I tow the same trailer all the time and have an order that I follow all the time, and when the crap trailers at work are missing something it screws me up)...

    Lubricating Lunette/Pintle?

You might want to try putting a little Red and Tacky type grease on the bottom of the Lunette. All the trailers I pull for work are fixed and do not rotate like the military ones. They also dont make any noise when turning or any other type of movement, even the rusty ones. As far as backing...

Ferret mark 2/4 in sw Florida

Looks good. I dont know really anything about them, but if you would like some help working on it, just give me a shout. I am just down the road a piece.

    Lubricating Lunette/Pintle?

No need to lube it. They bang back and forth and side to side all the time. Would some grease help? Sure but no need. Like said before, it would make more of a mess than help it would give.

Out with old rusty, in with (unique?) new M416

Yeah I am not sure, but from what I have been able to find is about mid 60s. What does the data plate say?

Out with old rusty, in with (unique?) new M416

Looks like a hearse. The markings leads me to believe its from the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam Advisory Team 42. The topper may serve a use for what ever reason. I still think it looks like a hearse trailer. Just something I found in the research of this... MACV Advisory Team 42...

Yes The deuce will fit on a 16ft backhoe trailer

I think you are pushing it with that truck, but in an emergency it would pull through. I have a 2000 F550 with the S135 rear and Dana 70 up front. Truck is only rated at 17500 GVW, truck weighs about 16K alone, but have it tagged at 19K. I bet we could do about 36K with it no problem with the...

Deuce got trucked to parade yesterday

I have been down that stretch of interstate, and while its has great beauty, doing 45 in a 80 would end horribly. Glad to see yall made a good choice. Those pics make me want to come back to CO.

    Florida to GA,SC,NC,VA,MD,OH,MI,IN,AL,LA

If you could get them somewhat closer over this way, I could drop them off to him sometime soon. I am working in Venice, Sarasota, and Tampa everyday right now. Maybe meet somewhere in the middle of the state? I am really interested in seeing what you spent in fuel.
