Set yourself a date to get it done by, like June 1st, 2013. And maybe devote 4 hours a weekend or more to work on it. Don't worry, the SS guys can motivate you.
I wasnt saying that there should be rocks in there, just going by what it looks like, IE volcanic rock. Or some kind of magnet, you know they like to put those in the bottoms of oil pans to collect the metal shavings. I think Westech is right, it has scoring marks on it.
Edit: I think you...
That kinda looks like a magnet or rock that broke. How did the bottom end look? If it runs fine, I would not worry too much. I would do the oil cooler gasket, I had the same issue with my F550, the trans cooler went out at the same time(big old mess). I curious as to what you find out.
LC, I have a Draw-Tight Hitch on my F550 that is rated at 12K and 16K with a load distributing hitch. I think it was about $500 installed with combo 8 ton hitch with raiser and brake controller. Just giving you another option.
As far as the low rating on the deuce, brakes, brakes, and...
Just get a 73-87's crew cab long bed truck. That should be a good base to swap in axles, diesel, trans and Tcase. If you really want to go crazy, get a Duramax and an Allison trans.
Reasons I have not bought one yet.
1. Money, student loans, rent, gas(not that I buy it anymore), and car parts...Still waiting on that pay raise
2. I just bought a BMW, it goes fast which helps that inner child in me (only 20 myself)
3. Insurance, Being a male under 25 in SWFL is tough...
Dont know why I didnt think of this because we do it all the time. Get an 8x8 block of wood for each leg and put under them. They also help disperse the weight when parking on asphalt or dirt.
Another thought, you can turn off the weather feature. See if that helps. Mine stays plugged in all the time, unless I am traveling and my phone needs charged. It only flashes on, its supposed to, when I plug it in. Also be ware of the weather test's on Wed at noon and Sun at 1800, they...
I only use RP in the BMW. It just feels better and apparently if you use on BMW spec they blow up, who knows. I have yet to switch the other to syn because of cost. We use syn in everything at work. They say you can run it longer, but I still change it at 5K in the diesel for engine oil and...
Have you tried a local trailer place? They might be able to get you something that would work, or know where to get them. She just needs some paint and new planks. I would go though all the brakes and lines too
What he said. I have almost the same radio, but I have a plug on it for the power point. They all come on and go off when they first get power. I would either do what he said, or run a plug to on it and plug it into the power point.
The simple reason I went BMW over Deuce and a Half is the drivers around here. I drive a F550 for work. Its huge, about the same size as a deuce and weighs the same too, its a 6 speed, and I am always towing something. There is nothing worse than this traffic driving the F550. No wonder you...
Just like the old NASCAR views that they are starting to bring back. You can really get a feel for how big they are. Your doing what 45? and it looks like your doing about 100 in that thing.
Does anyone ever take your deuce to cruse night? All the vids you see are during the day just...
