Yeah, I did not think most places around here go by weight. Now size, that's a different story. For you to be under 8' tall, 96", you would have no stack, folded windshield, and no troop seats, and it would still be close. Maybe let the air out of your tires when you park at your house? haha...
Is it over 10,000 pounds? I bet it is.
I hate seeing these threads, but then again I love them. I live in Cape Coral, which as of about 10 years ago you couldn't even have a PICK UP TRUCK parked at your house. The laws have loosed a little bit but not much. I got a warning from the code...
Everyone should be required to get a CDL if you are driving anything bigger than shoes. The Reg driving test is a freaking joke. I have my Class A, no airbrakes or class 8 trucks(I took the test in a Chevy 3500 and 20K Gooseneck). Its not hard if your not brain dead. Also remember if your...
It seems to be a common issue. One of the former members I know from around here has broken 2 in the last 6 months or so. We were discussing upgrading to a larger U-bolt.
Hot water pressure washer. I use a 200 deg 4500 psi one we have at work for cleaning my concrete pump when its in for service. It takes off the little bit of build up I get with no problem. And all the grease that gets flung around comes right off too.
There are so many thing you can do with a skid steer. My least favorite, backing off a trailer. That must have been nerve racking when the skid dropped off the back with your new ride attached to it.
There is a reason we stay away from the 6.0 and newer powerjokes at work. The '00 F550 I have has enough problems, most not engine related. Of the 10 months I have had it, I have put 30K miles on it. Parts list is near $6K and includes a turbo, p/s pump, transmission, clutch kit, shiffter...
I would take a pressure washer, hot water one preferably, and clean the entire engine compartment. That way its easier to determine where the leak is coming from. Its probably just the can not seating right like was said. I prefer canister filters, but they can be a pain sometimes.
AZ dont feel bad about driving it. My F550 had a turbo failure and fuel line rupture. The boss said drive it back to the shop 55 miles away, so that's what I did. Better to make it a few miles south I guess than foot a $1000 tow bill for the thing as its too big to fit on any of our trailers...
Time for a 700R4 swap.
I would give swapping the filter and oil a shot. $75 may be wasted or it could save you from buying a new trans. Sounds like something went south and you lost all your fluid, and something is really messed up inside the trans. Changing the fluid may at least buy you a...
I will say I have seen many loads like that. I will also say that I have done a few stupid things, but when the boss says move it, you move it the best way you can.
TO have done this properly, I should have used an enclosed trailer, none of which were empty, or rented a Uhaul(we are doing...

Pintle hitches are better IMHO. Easy, quick, stronger.
