The cabs are the same. The closest place to you to look for parts would be Parramore surplus in Mt.Pleasant, west of Tallahassee. Their Phone is 850-856-5421. I have a solid cab tub off a M109 shop van if you need it
I just purchased from a farmer in southern Italy, a rare Roman M-LVCCIIXL armored chariot. My problem is, the TM is in Latin. Can anyone translate it? I'd really like to PMCS it before I drive it.
In searching the site for 5-ton wheel bearing numbers, i have found 593 and 593a for the inner, and 592,592a for the races. What is the difference between the numbers with "a" and the ones without? Are they interchangeable?
I notice your friends' dad is a heavy truck mechanic.
He should know what tools to take and what to inspect on a truck like this, so you do have mechanic support. As others have stated, download the operators manual and read up on it. JATONKA's M35 TM download page The first manual listed...

You can't get an SF-97 unless you buy it direct from the Federal gov. If the M1009 is owned by an individual, you'll have to go another route to obtain a title.
Are you planning on guying from GL or GSA? I bought my M1009 from GL. If you buy from GL, you must request the SF-97 (certificate to obtain title) and pay GL a fee. If you buy from a GSA auction, they will mail you the SF-97 in a few days after they're paid. Take the SF-97 with bill of sale...
