Belay that previous post - I changed my search criteria and found where the subject got beaten to death earlier.

    gear oil

Still on the GL-1 topic! A fellow who has a bunch of Deuces and an oil co. tells me that GL-5 works just fine and is an improvement over the way things were done 30 some odd years ago. Kinda makes sense since the Mil-2105 has progressed through /A, /B,/C, /D, and now /E revisions with the...

    Garwood Winch

Aren't the A3s coming with Hydraulic winches or did I just imagine that? I f the truck already has hydraulics, it would be simple to add a motor to an existing winch. I wonder if the TM9-8617 Kenny mentioned is on LOGSA.mil?

    Garwood Winch

Thanks guys, I picked up a takeoff today from a guy down in Central Texas who has about five acres of stuff. Best I can tell, it will work. But I still want to rebuild the original and reuse it so I'll look into Sam Winer's motors. Found the rebuild info in tech man TM 9-2320-361-34 and I'll...

Pete, Got this tube in today's mail and it's fantastic! Beautiful stuff. PM me with the correct address. I noticed the return label is different. Thanks again. Harley

    Garwood Winch

Yeah, All the good stuff seems to be E. of the Miss. But I think I've got a lead on a guy in Texas with a similar deal. Does anybody know if Garwood is still in business? I saw an old data plate that read "Gar Wood" and listed "Detroit Mich." Seems like a shame to junk the whole winch for...

    Hazard lights or 4 ways?

Way Cool! I had no idea that was there! I just got up, got a flashlight, went out to 'EMMA' and tried it! Neato! I was just thinking the other day how it ought to have 4-way flashers... Ask and ye shall receive ! Thanks, Peter.

    Rear End "CLUNK"

Well I'll be darn! There it is in the Lubrication order - except they call it a "Rear Spring Seat Bushing or Bearing (See note 8)" which says do it semiannually... And mine hasn't been touched in fifteen years. I guess you gotta figure out what size zerk to screw in the pipe plug hole? My...

    Garwood Winch

Just discovered why the winch driveshaft pieces were missing! The winch is no good! So where do you find parts for a Garwood winch? Seems to me like I saw an exploded view/parts list for the front winch in one of the TM's but darned if I can find it! Or do you just chunk it and go find...

    gear oil

Kenny, You said you pulled a PTO off that was gooed up w/ GL1 - got me thinking... My PTO is almost impossible to shift. After lots of cussin' I was able to get into Rev. but not either of the FWD positions. Could that be dried lube? The truck went thru Tooele in 8/90 and has only had 4800...

    GAA Grease

Seems I've answered my own question - Did a Google search on 'MIL-G-10924' and determined it was Lithium based and basically a generic NLGI-2 grease. Which fits with what MVTrucker said about 'blue' grease. WWW.lubeandtune.com.au/html/lubekey.htm has a chart "Key To Lubricants which...

    NAPA wiper arm and blade

Hey RDD, Looks like you got caught in the same trap I was in! They say " Imitation is the most sincere form of compliment" ... Thanks! (sorry, the 'devil' made me do it!) I think maybe cten is right, if you've already got the arms and don't mind the weak wipe.

    GAA Grease

Got the Lubrication Order off RDM's CD today (Thanks RDM - your million is in the mail...). Lots of places to use GAA but no GAA! Does anyone know of an acceptable substitute for GAA? Most grease is formulated with Molybdium or Lithium and the two can't be mixed. So any ideas as to what GAA...

Peter, After Joe's accolades, I can't wait to see... But that's ok - I'll be busy installing all that stuff I bought from Joe!

    Wiper arm question (Pics)

Be advised the arms are a bit pricey - $17.19 ea and the blades were $6.89 ea. I'm sort of curious about the WalMart/ Pylon solution that cten posted. Sounds a whole lot cheaper. Just make it a point to check the blade receptacles before you leave the store to avoid disappointment, as they say!

    Wiper arm question (Pics)

So NAPA inherited Trico's problems! My 60-750 arm kit did not contain the wide bayonet, just the two narrow ones you mentioned. Turns out one 60-011-1 blade took the wide bayonet (the one marked "made in UK" with the number '2' while the other was the narrow. The next blade off the rack at...

    Wiper arm question (Pics)

AH HA! Not all 60-011-1 blades are created equal! I have two that are different! The swivels where it slides on the arm are different! The one that flops around is stamped "Made in UK" and has the number "2" across the slot. The other that fits perfectly is stamped "TRICO england" and has...

    Wiper arm question (Pics)

Yeah, it's on the back side of the arm where the knurled surface bites into the cup attached to the arm. That puts the little bump up to match the hole in the blade receiver. But the blade still twists around the straight adapter. It's like the plastic doesn't provide enough support on the...

    Wiper arm question (Pics)

Fred, What did I do wrong? I bought two each of the NAPA 60-750 arms and the 60-011-1 blades. I put the arms together using the little straight tab that fastens to the arm with a screw. I replaced the knurled nut on the motor shaft with the new knurled nut and the threaded screw-in nut, Fits...
