I understand what your saying. but this thread is what is the best or right oil to use. I am stating what my experience has been. 40w oil is an approved lube for these tranys. I put it in and it fixed my shifting problems.
Also there is some who think its the friction modifiers that cause the...
All i know is i drained the GL5 out of my trans and put in 40w motor oil and i no longer have to fight it into first or second gear. If your trany is hard to shift dump the GL5. Synchros work like clutches or brakes. they ether speed up or slow down the gears so they mesh. The friction modifiers...
I traded a shotgun for a homelite 5000 watt generator. The carb was a mess. I could not separate the top and the bowel. ended up beating them apart with a hammer. The aluminum corrosion in the bowel looked like cottage cheese and completely filled the carb. It was the worst i have ever seen. But...
Today i adjusted the valves on the truck. Had a couple tight ones and a real loose one.
But the most important thing i learned is all science. Starting a 1:30pm every time you climb onto a deuce fender the truck grows at least 6" in height. But for this to happen you have to be a little...
To day I installed a new thermostat because the truck never got any hotter than 110. When i started to pull the water outlet i realized the heater hoses were installed so thay made a bypass of the thermostat. So i moved the heater hose to the water pump like it should be. Other than a valve...
I want to thank every one for their replies. I spent the afternoon on you tube comparing my videos sound with many other trucks and have come to the same conclusion that it is normal engine noise for a deuce.
I truly apprentice every one that replied

I recorded the knock this morning and uploaded it to you tube. Their compression muffled the sound so crank it up and let me know if i'm worried about nothing. I have never heard another Multifuel run. I am concerned becouse the knock is not always there.
It dose sounds like a timing knock. It is a deep knock at the top of cyl 4 Sounds lighter but still loud at the pan. But it dose not go away when the injector line is loosened. that is the part that gets me. rod or injector it should change when fuel is removed. I think ill try to recorded the...
I don't know what kind of fuses they are. But if they are glass fuses buy a circuit breaker. The circuit breaker has a raised center that makes a good handle. Pull the fuses. put valve lapping compound on the ends of the circuit breaker, insert into the fuse holder and rotate it up and down...
My truck some times knocks at cold idle, some times it doesn't. Some times the knock at warm idle is faint and not troubling other times it's quite loud. The oil pressure is a steady 58lb Hot or cold at idle will go up to 70 at speed cold but will stay right at 58 hot. The knock is not there...
You may increase performance, (But i doubt it as you are adding unregulated fuel to the system.) But you CAN NOT gain mileage. Laws of physics every time you change one kind of energy into another (electricity to hydrogen) you lose some. In an alternator most of that energy is lost as heat.
Emergency Camper Painting Update!!
Painting A Camper While On A M35a2 Will Burn Out All Five Turn Signal Bulbs.
REMOVE CAMPER BEFORE PAINTING!!
That is all

Put a vacuum gauge on the truck. If the needle is steady the engine has no major mechanical problems. Low compression if even on all cyinders will still have a steady needle. That is always the first test. Steady needle move on to timing, spark , fuel or low compression. Flucating needle is a...
The original poster has been very busy lately and has not had much time to work on the truck. He has just finished painting the camper and drove the truck home for the first time since starting this thread.
But apparently painting a camper will make turn signals and brake lights inoperative...
I filter my coffee with a dirty shock. It needs to have holes in it as i like a little grit at the bottom of the cup. Yes its safe to say used motor oil is cleaner than my coffee and may taste better to.
Put your nose down in that recovery bottle and give a good sniff. Dose it smell of exhaust? You will get water in the oil only if the head gasket blows across a oil drain back port.
I'm probably telling ya things you already know, That's my specialty. Just ask my family.
You make a good point. Gona put diffrent color heat shrink on cable ends and a corresponding color splotch on equalizer. and battery clamps. As Clint would say (A mans got to know his limitations) Sure as shootin' a few years down the road I'd mix em up due to faded or missing tape. Thanks for...
Made a little more progress today. wired in the battery equalizer. Also wired in the camper clearance lights. Them 12v bulbs that still work look like flood lights on 24 volts. Started to change out bulbs but some of the sockets are to far gone.
Filled and the fresh water tank and tested the...
POWERSTROKEN
You have some good ideas there. I used a camper because it already has the guts. water tank, frig, stove and the rest of the stuff. The camper is not permanently attached. Already have plans to build a frame work for the camper jacks that would extend past the side of the truck...
