Thanks for the advise Unclemikey. I think i will try the solar panels. we tend to sit outside at night with a fire so our 12 volt use is not much ether. I have one concern and that is my height. I must be close to 13' at the tallest vent. What is your height and has it been a problem anywhere?
Today i trimmed the sides to fit in the bed and slid the camper forward. I stopped 13" from the front of bed so i can put a 12" deep fuel tank in front. I had to lift the camper up to clear the cab. i used 4x6 and 4x4s to build a frame under the camper. next to the wiring. I think i will just...
I decided to go the camper route like my hero Unclemikey. Spent 6 hours puttin' it into the truck good enough to move to my shop. Used come alongs to pull it up a ramp into the bed. Would have worked like a charm if i had grabbed the good come alongs. But in my rush i grabbed the $9 Harbor...
I have had to tear into an rebuilt engine with only a few miles on it. you would be surprised how fast timing chains loosen up. If you did not have to pry it onto the cam just run it.
I once worked for a guy that heated his pool by pumping the water to the ridge of the roof. a pipe ran the length of the roof with holes drilled every few inches. the water would run down the black singles and into the rain gutter then back into the pool. he bragged that it heated the pool and...
This is how installed my pyro gauge. Put it where my fuel gauge was. put the fuel gauge where the high beam indicator was. put the High beam indicator in the center.
One thing to remember. Anti-freeze does not go bad. I just gets dirty. I drain my anti-freeze into five gallon buckets and set them under the bushes to let the crap in it settle out. I then reuse it.
Not entirely true. The cooling system has to have the proper ph or it will turn into a...
The problem is i do understand. I am a professional mechanic and so i know what happens when you use gearoil in a transmission not designed for it. You know what happens? Usually nothing, works just fine. But sometimes...........
I always ignore the manufactures to. They are just dumb to spend all that money on engineering and testing and more engineering and testing to come up with an recommended lube. Every one knows the end user who did not do all the testing and engineering knows better. Yes the other lubes work...
Yes this has me concerned. My trans and transfer case have to heavy of oil in them. I don't know exactly what because I did not change it. But both shift real hard until they have been completely warmed up. on the trans a lot of presser is needed on the sincros. But what bad thing is gonna...
Kind like splittin' hairs. Yes they tax by the mile instead of by fuel tax. But to administers a program and disperse tax money they have to be a member even if it is on a limited bases.
Yes Oregon is a member. This is from there website.
Oregon-based companies operating trucks and buses in other states and Canadian provinces participate in the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) and work with the Oregon Department of Transportation, Motor Carrier Transportation...
Five gal. bucket can and usually cost more than one gal jugs. Don't know why but its always been my experience here in rainy Springfield Or. And that's with my shop discount.
p; but if you don't want to support people that hate us, then you might want to avoid certain oil companies and buy from Sunoco, ConocoPhillips, Sinclair, BP / Phillips, ARC0, Flying J and the others listed:
The problem is they mix the supply. dose not matter what brand you buy it all comes...
That's funny Mr dose not move much. I Had his pic on my computer for the vary same reason. It was my desktop background while I was shopping for my truck.
Don't let the admeration swell your head Unclemikey! Alas a question. is the camper sitting on the bed or is it raised to clear the cab. I...
