Welcome to SS! I would suggest a 3 ton or larger car trailer or something similar. A goose neck would work best, but bumper pull would be the easiest to get. I think you could find someone with one that they would let you borrow. Or you might be able to rent one from u haul. The max weight...
I think they just wanted to find the cure to the OD Fever. It does not exist, it does exist...
Good Work PA. Our site would be the crap it used to be, and it was good then. Keep it up!:gimp2:
That dose not look too bad. That locking hitch pin could be a problem in the winter though. Water gets in them and freezes and breaks the locks. Been there done that.
nopics I borrowed a trailer once to move a pickup, and the one safety chain was a tad bit too short. Once I had weight on the trailer, it became a big problem. I turned a little too sharp and the hook tore the chain holder out the bottom. I welded it back together and painted, and its kinda...
I have heard that Purple Power works well with gunk and stuff. I use Liquid Hammer on things and it works quite well. Maybe try soaking in one of the two for a while and then rinse really well.
As long as the trailer measurements are bigger than the truck in width and the smallest part of said trailer are shorter than the wide parts of the truck you should be okay. 5800 pounds is nothing on the right trailer behind the right rig.

I would have loaded everything as far front as possible. And when it starts to sway, foot off the gas, both hands on the wheel, and hold for a straight line until it stops. All bumper pulls I have pulled have had a sway at some point. I always pull where I feel safe, or as fast as the truck...
That would be correct. The only way I can understand it is, if there is anyway that air is used in the braking system, then you need the air brake endorsement. I do not even think a Historic Tag would over ride this fact.
I would think if you follow your states laws, most of them are similar, then your okay no matter where you go. As long as your under 26K total and have a trailer weight under 10K GVW and are driving for yourself (not for hire) you should be alright. That is how I understand our laws here in...
Sorry to hear about your luck. If you were only 7 miles from it why didn't you preview it? I drive farther than that to go to walmart. At least you will make money form parting and scraping it.
