I had super singles on my M813A1 and they were a set of 1400 on HEMTT rims and had no problems with spacing just flip the front 2 rims and they will offset the the outside and should be fine, and put the back on normally as usual ..
Also the FMTV breaksdown far more then the older equipment I have talked with some actice duty AirForce commanders at parades and they all say that they would like to have the older equipment instead of the newer junk because the new stuf breaksdown to much !! What does the DOD expect with...
The 12v wire is for the glow plug make sure you hook it up in 12v or you will burn it out with 24v. Also it will make starting in cold weather a little easier with the glow plug working
HI Duecewild11. That mysterious line is the vent extension line hooks up to the top cap of the MC and that goes up to the top of the firewall into the air breather when it is hooked up to the MC when fording a Duece. It allows the MC to breath when it is underwater , along with the plug at...
Also consider servicing the truck before making a long trip like yours.. You can air up the tire to the highway pressure on the data plate and it might help a little bit in the mileage and speed departments as well.
Also check the tire pressure if you air them up to the Highway pressure it will give you a bit more spped then if they are set atthe cross country pressure !!
The thing about the 1600 on a 5 ton is that you would get the extra mph but you will loose the pulling power of the engine because the tires are to tall. I had 1400 on my M813 and I liked the look and the extra speed but I lost the pulling power going up hills that sucked !!\
He might check the Fuel filters sometime if they get clogged up it will slow the truck down . Also the turbo may be going out and it is not delivering the correct pressure into the engine so check the air filter too it may be clogging up !!

Yes that lookscool !!!! Maybe go with a Holmes 440 or Holmes 600 Wrecker unit that has the outriggers attached to the forward roll over rack. as for the short wheel base you could add weights to the front extended bumper to give move puylling power and use ta/ stiffer springs in the rear to...
James I would just for the sake of safety to your truck take the flange apart at the front rear axle that way the transfer and trans will not spin . Good Luck
